Doctors say that you should eat 5 pieces of fruit or veg a day to remain
healthy. Last week I ate 5 mouldy plums and messed the bed

What's healthy about that?

Seriously though....

Has anyone seen the ad on telly with the kids playing "fruit & veg Top Trumps"?

YA RIGHT :D

I know we all need to eat more of our "5 a day", but how many of you actually do??

Its hard enough trying to remember to drink 2 litres of water a day, 5 portions of the green and healthy, organic this & that (which I don't bother with) vitamins etc etc etc

I usually get 5 a day in. Salad in sandwhiches, pasta sauces, eating a piece or two of fruit etc.

Water is mostly what I drink, and I take a multivitamin, cod liver oil and o-3 sup. in the morning and evening.

Firstly, using someone else's anecdote in the start of your thread is going to lose you points.

Secondly I'm afraid you're wrong, it's fairly easy to remember to eat and drink healthily. You have to eat and drink anyway so making a bit of effort to ensure your diet is good and balanced isn't hard.

just drink innocent smoothy everyday that'll sort you out for 2 of the 5
then in your dinner your bound to have veg and in youor sandwichs lettuce, cucumba or tomatos thats 4 and just eat orange or summin when snacky not to hard .

you do not need to drink 2 litres of water a day, it amazing how many people think this. Its probably less healthy to actually do this.
Remember all the food we eat contains a lot of water.

I eat apples everyday,so one a day for me ,depending what i make for dinner as well, some days more than others, two a day at most

I love fruit and veg and it always surprises me how many people don't eat 5 a day. I have been known to demolish 3 or 4 apples in one sitting! [I love apples :D]

Salad and veg is also great, meals would be incredibly boring without them!

Nonsense. Drinking 2 litres of water a day (Presuming its not pure H20 with no minerals or something and not swimming pool water or something) is good for you.
2 gallons however probably isn't.

Hard?

Just eat a balanced diet all the time (and not just throwing in the occasional tomato or orange as a token gesture) and it's easy.

My breakfast contained chopped apple & apricots, and some raisins (plus yoghurt, a few raw cashews & almonds, and porridge oats).

Lunch was a chopped yellow pepper, sliced cucumber, cherry tomatos, chick-peas and tuna.

I'll have a banana and an apple at around 3pm.

Dinner will probably be a chilli (completely home-made sauce containing tomatos, peppers, onions, garlic, kidney beans and either lean mince beef or soya) poured over brown rice.

I've got a water dispenser in my office, and a kettle which I use for green tea.

Seriously, once you get into it and change your lifestyle, it really is easy.

I try and drink 2 litres of water a day and probably have about 1 piece of fruit a day. Im healthy but need to do more exercise :p

5 a day is pricey, but I usually manage 2-3 a day :)

how much water do you have to drink again? some insane number no doubt 8 glasses or something

7-9 a day, sometimes more sometimes less and I don't even try.

Drink some fruit juice, banna at breakfats, apple at lunch apple or orange after dinner, usuually thrown some frozen mixed veg into rice or pasta anywa, most of my meals are things like stir fries with a load of veg.

I probably suffer more form eating too much fruit. I mean, if I buy a bunch of grapes it will last a day, same if I get some crisp juicy apples. Sometimes I end up with a bannan fetish and eat a bit too many...

As for water, well i drink around 3 liters of beer a day, at 95% water that still gives 2.85l of water... although the beers I have been drinbking recently are about 8-11% so maybe I'm getting 2.5l a day :p :p ;)
