5 a day?

Thats not strictly true. having too much of some vitamins can be as bad as not having enough.
really? one day I had 8 foosh mints - which contains 3600% of your RDA of Vit B12.

what can having too much vitamins do to you?

I hardly ever have 5fruit in a day. I don't have a very healthy diet.

They can act just like a poison and prolonged high doseages of some vitamins and minerals can do you some real damage

it's true though - what vegetables actually taste good? they're just there to bulk out meals. Because just eating meat would be pretty expensive.

Load of rubbish, it just to push government health things, the body has not evolved enough to live off 5 a day, go back 200 years where they eating 5 a day, maybe a piece of fruit and veg and loads of meat.

Simple is to eat some veg and fruit in the week with meat and protein and just live a decent lifestyle, if you get cancer etc, thats life.

vitamin tablets just get washed out of your body to your pee, your liver isnt that stupid.

Off the top of my head, I can't think of one that doesn't taste good. Blame your parents.

(edit - raw green peppers are a bit rubbish compared to the others :p)

on a basic level, some vitamins are not stored by your body (eg vit C) and some are (eg A and D), too much of those that are stored can cause things like blood clots / tumours / possible cirrhosis of the liver etc etc

quick google on too much Vit C -
Diarrhea, abdominal cramps, high stomach acid, increased urination, insomnia, irritability, joint pains,
osteoporosis, headaches, hypoglycemia, weakness, anemia, PMS, may increase infections by causing
copper deficiency, reduced estrogen, reduced progesterone, reduced prolactin,

Have you ever had home-grown veg? It tastes much nicer.

I like pretty much all veg, I didn't use to when I was younger (though I'd still eat it) but now I've grown to like it :).

What rubbish, I would love to be able to chose to eat vegetables, it would give me far more variety in my food.

However for many vegetables, especially carrots, it takes like someone had put dog droppings in my mouth. It tastes like what bin juice smells like, it honestly does. Its not like people who don't like vegatables do not eat them out of choice.

Saying that, I do enjoy mushrooms, parsnips and a good corn on the cob.

Didn't say it was, but it is almost certainly all in their head to have a dislike for most or all of them. To flat-out not like "vegetables" is ridiculous when it is such a wide and varied subset of food.

Carrots! Specifically raw carrots, they are tasty :p

I would say it was 'unlucky' more than anything. I know one ocuk member who only eats cheese and bread with a side order of crisps!

Hello :D

Possibly but if you only like a few out of that vast range then I think it is fair to generalise.

I sometimes buy 3 litres of fresh orange juice on a Saturday (when I do my shopping - they have an offer on) it's lovely but gives me the *****.

Today I've had 3 oranges, a litre of apple juice, some broadbeans and mangetout, oh and half an onion, and 3 cloves of garlic!
