5 Series or 3 series GT?

LOL look totally different.

Totally.

Personally I like the 3gt, but I nearly ordered a 5gt before deciding on the x5 so don't trust my opinion. But 5 vs 3, go for 5!

All the 5 GT hate in here makes me sad. I think it looks awesome from certain angles, especially the rear if it's got fat wheels!

I have had a 530GT for 2 years (a couple of yeas ago) and my dad has a 535 GT, ok they don't look very nice but they are very comfortable cars.

I'm really not sure a 2 litre diesel hatchback 3 Series is quite the definition of 'doing something crazy' when it comes to picking a company car :D

I think picking a 3GT over a 5 saloon though would most certainly be doing something crazy!

The car is sound, I took out a 5 series M Sport for a test drive then jumped into a 3GT and preferred it.

So I brought one. a 330D M Sport.:D

There are some cheap 3GT 335d X-drive lease deals going around at the moment. Only issue is you need to Spec the M-Sport Plus pack (£2k) to make it worth having, which makes it not so cheap :/

Why is it not 'worth having' without the M Sport Plus pack? You can option xenons individually and I hardly think not having 19s and massive brakes stops your diesel hatch being 'worth having'.

The standard wheels look rubbish and tiny on the large body. Also Xenons and Sun Protection are £1k by themselves, so for another £900 you get larger wheels, braking and speaker upgrade. All of which turn the standard 'meh' £45k car into a great £47k car :) (RRP)

None of that stuff is the difference between a car being 'worth having' and not 'worth having' though. 19 inch wheels will destroy the ride quality. If I had only 2k to spend on a 3GT options M Sport Plus wouldn't get a look in, it'd be Xenon's and Navigation.

These are the options that I added:

Estoril Blue
Saddle Brown Interior
M Sport Plus Package
19" wheels
Media Package Pro.
Reversing camera
Ext folding mirrors, auto dimming
Sport Seats
Front heated seats
Brushed Aluminium interior trim with Pearl chrome
M Sport suspension
Electric seats with memory.

In regards to the image of the 5 GT with the spoiler, the 5 GT has no active spoiler! so that would have been manually mounted.

Nice spec, seems to have everything you'd need - though how did you add Sport Seats and M Sport suspension when they are standard fit on the M Sport trim level?

The M Sport suspension can be deleted as an option.

You do get electric seats as standard but not with memory.

Quite... form over function don't make a car worth having.

Bigger alloys... lower profile tyres = worse ride & handling profile.
