5 Things you must do

Boxing goon? You couldn't fight sleep :p

Hey sleep is an unfair fight!

But yeah here's me (Tim Harris) :D

1. Build your own PC.
2. Hate WoW while playing an inferior MMO.
3. Convert over to WoW, and hate it while playing it.
4. Stop playing WoW, continue hating it.
5. Pre-Order Diablo 3 instead.

My top 5 must do in a MMO would be
1) Grief play, it's fun don't knock it until you try it.
2) Become hated, so hated, the more hate and nerd rage the better.
3) Become the best PKer, this is great will attract a lot of hate and also a lot of fan boys.
4) Be in a guild of like minded individuals who go around PKing everyone they can find.
5) Have the best items you can get, nothing better than having the best you can have.

I reckon you could sum that up as

1. Beat up people online because they've been doing it to you in real life for years.
2. Accumulate imaginary wealth online to stop you thinking about how little you have in the real world.
3. Boast about it online.

play Ultima Online 2

That is a classic response from someone who's been greifed and quit a game because of it

1. Don't play WOW
2. Don't play WOW
3. Don't play WOW
4. Don't become crap at FPS by playing WOW
5. Laugh at WOW players screenshots of defeating a boss.

FPS forever. Everything else can suck it!

1. Build your own custom monster
2. upgrade it to hell in the constant hunt for higher frame counts and etc etc
3. buy the token most popular games via steam etc etc ( orange box, CS:S etc etc )
4. Get hooked on very simple Indie games because they are marvellous
5. Never admit to anyone that you use a controller for 90% of games because you can't get used to the Keyboard Mouse system lol

1-5. buy XIM for a 360 and laugh at all the poor controller players that can't handle how good you are on a game you've never played before due to a far superior control system.

and then go back to your PC with pride, Winnnaaa.

But seriously i pretty much agree with goons original list minus the WoW crap.

So pretty much the same as everyone else then!

Build PC, Play Half Life, Wait for Half Life 3.

Forgot Half Life 2 and episodes.

It's alright though, int he long years of waiting for Half Life 3 I think we've all begun to forget what the hell is going on in Half Life.

That's true :p Makes all the wait for HL remake worth it as a replay!

When is it due anyway....

Interested to see what people think is a must for any PC gamer/enthusiast?

Alert Alert, long drawn out rant ahead. Proceed with caution.
'Earmuffs must be worn past this point'

I'm all for the 'each to their own' philosophy.

Granted, i'd consider playing WoW pointless, because I think it's terrible. But i'm not one to judge what is a worthwhile life and what isn't.

I have my views on what is, and so I live my life by those views. And that is mostly just a little bit of everything.
I love gaming, a LOT and spend more time doing that than anything else really...(except listening to music) but I do also love extreme sports, fast cars, seeing the worlds cultures, expensive holidays with luxury suites, fine dining and cocktails, movies, music.
And of course having a stunning, intelligent girl and a nice small group of great friends.
I also have a career, which is progressing nicely and i've got myself into a very respectable position with a high income.
I hate to say all this as it sounds like bragging, but it's not. Just kind of bugs me when gamers get this bad rep for being sad and pathetic and having no life.

Despite the above, I mostly game. And often spend 30 or more hours in a week doing so. Whether on PC, Xbox, PS3 or PSP.

Granted, most of that is currently due to my partner studying through Open Uni so a huge proportion of her time at home is spent studying. I probably wouldn't game so much if she wasn't so busy.

But, what's the difference between playing WoW for 40 hours a week, or playing 5 different games totalling 40 hours a week? or watching TV for 40 hours a week, or living/playing/breathing football 40 hours a week? (just because it's a sport doens't make it any less sad to others. I find football one of the most pathetic things in existance!)

Ok, i'm at peace again. :D
