Rather than simply drop the price
Maybe they get 2 months interest out your £50
Before giving you it
So actually costs them less than £50
Or there's some other benefits in them doing it that way

It's for accounting purposes - means they can state in their quarterly results that they've sold £xm of devices, if you discount it hits these numbers, if you cashback you can a) defer this hit and b) hide it in other lines....
All a bit silly, but allows them to manage their positioning of sales volumes - also sometimes has tax benefits also for the firm.

Very good for buyers in companies. They can buy the drives, charge it all to the company, but claim the cashback for themselves.
It's edging closer to the anniversary of my purchase date, with maybe only a couple days to go. I'm guessing Samsung are going to make me wait the full 30 days and then I'll expect there to be ~3-5 working days to receive the actual bank transfer.
I wonder if they will make me wait until the 21st before emailing me that they're transferred the cashback reward? My order arrived on the 20th and I registered my claim before 6pm on the same day.
How long did it take for the bank transfer after they emailed you they've transferred the cashback to your bank?

With the sound bar they e-mailed me within submitting my claim and then money in my account 3 days later and this was inc a weekend as I submitted it on a Saturday.
For this Drive I submitted on the 3rd of this month, then got a E-mail same day the claim has been approved by the team. Next step is they will send an approval E-mail when payment has been processed, so been a while.
Fingers crossed with ASUS. For me they were useless. During z370 era submitted it, took ages, chased them up and they considered it paid, never received the money.

He will reimburse me the £65 anyway
I'm beginning to think that Samsung will email me tomorrow (30 days from the start of my claim) and at roughly the same time I put my claim in (6pm).
There's no urgency for the cashback, I just expected a speedier turnaround from a company as large as Samsung.
So I've received my £50 cashback today, despite not receiving an email saying I should expect to receive it soon.
Yes same just happened to me. No email saying expect it on xyz date, just appeared as it was suggested. Oh well, got it which is the main thing.
