Does anyone else love £50 notes?
I just love the size and look of them, and the graphics, they're so damn english, red on white, I like that. And the fact when you hand one to the cashier they instantly **** their pants and start trying to proove its fake.
Anyone else find this, i've just drawn out £500 in £50 notes, i love how they don't fit in my wallet.

I love 'em. I don't think you ever get them from cashpoints so you have to go inside the bank and usually ask them if you want them, otherwise they will give you a load of £20's.

Was always good at Christmas as a kid, my dad used to give me and my twin brother a £50 each. Good memories :D

On a slightly different note (see what I did there), why do people ask if you have anything smaller? Of course you haven't.

I'd like to buy a packet of crisps with a fifty.
 
They're pretty decent. I wish they started using them more in ATMs.

Bank of Scotland have a £100 note.

I quite like clydesdale banknotes they're rather smart too.
 
I used to pay rent in £50 notes. Always got suspicious looks because I ferried the cash from my bank to Abbey, which was 2 doors down.

Yeah they're not officially legal tender, but generally in practice are accepted as such in a sort of "gentleman's agreement". Either way the only £100 note I ever had I changed in HSBC without an issue. :)
 
Back ye olde days when I got a pay packet rather than wages paid directly to a current account, these would appear all the time. Trouble was £50 notes made an already pitiful wage look even less impressive, and it was never fun trying to spend them when you were a 21 year old lad. :(

It has too high a value to be really useful, and the only real place for them is 'look how wealthy I am' threads. :D
 
Came across a good few £50s at work and got a wee fright when i saw a £100 doing cash rec! The thing was like an A5 sheet of paper.

Pointless for me as my wallet fits £20 in height wise and not a lot more.
 
What I can't work out is how the £20 pound note has been through 2 changes, the £10 through 1 change, but the £50 stays the same.

If they are such commonly faked notes (due to value), then why not bring them up to date a tad :confused:
