£50 notes

I've never been in a shop that wouldn't take a £50, I've never seen a cashier '**** themselves' at the sight of one, and I certainly don't '**** myself' at the sight of one, or a wad of them.

It's money. Scribble it with the magic pen and put it in the till. Drama!

why do shops scribble a uv pen on notes anyway? They all must be covered in squiggles by now.

Quite frankly your nothing unless your notes have atleast 5 zeros!

I even gave the 1,000,000 to a mate!

I prefer to carry these bad boys

i prefer 100's myself, although i have a large stash of 50's in the house.

worse intrest than an isa but i just love counting them

They still do 100 notes?

Havent seen any for years...

Plenty of 50s though...but i dont like using them as practically everyone assumes they are fake and you take a lot longer than u should to get ** shopping paid for....:p

I remember when I worked at Argos and someone came in with three, was expecting them to just say keep the change.

I tend to buy stuff with cash - it's my preferred way to make a transaction. I rarely get £50's though because no one ever gives them to me. I don't understand why people say their too big...what if I want to by something for £35-50? a £50 note is great for that sort of stuff.

Was in my new job two days before someone gave me a £50, i didnt go mental trying to prove its fake lol.

Business' loss, not mine :)

You're the one handling the money directly from the customer, therefore are responsible for it.

I don't go mental when I get one. I call the supervisor, who then goes mental making sure it's not fake! :D

I've worked several till jobs over the last 5 years now, and at all but one of them i was instructed not to take 50's.

I don't mind taking them personally, but I prefer the smaller denominations

I was a bit irritated by a sign in a shop today saying "We're sorry, but we can't accept £50 notes".

I wasn't annoyed by the shop not taking £50 notes. I was annoyed by the lie. Not accepting £50 notes is a choice.

I've seen a lot of fake notes (I work in a cash business and handle about £30,000 in notes on an average week), but none of them were fifties.

One of the cash points i used the other week was giving out £20 notes instead of £10 notes, needless to say i stood there for a gd half hour withdrawing £10 at a time :D

Lie? Could be that they had insufficient change to handle £50 notes that day?

I know I wouldn't serve someone trying to buy something under £1 with a £20 or £50 anyway. Funnily enough, shops aren't banks.
