i dont think ill fill 1tb in a hurry and i think 500gb would probably be enough but i fancy a samsung f3 1tb drive, that way i know ive got plenty of space and it seems to get good reviews. would there be any benefits to having just 500gb or not?
any help much apreciated :)

its personal requirements tbh but considering its about 30£ for double your storage but i guess its up to bud the advantage of having 500gb is it will take less time to format but speed wise i think its neglible

My motto as far as hard disks are concerned is to get the biggest you can afford, worry about filling them up or not at a later date.

The more storage you have the more you want to store.
I'm currently almost at full capacity here with 5.5TB+

I remember the days we fitted a 10GB drive to our machine.
"More storage than any man could want."

I know what you mean, I've got 4tb in my home PC and 1.5tb external and I'm already looking at replacing the pair of 500gb drives I have with 1.5tb versions. :)
