I want to refrain from going down that road, instead opting for beautiful light and composition.
I use 500px as a barometer only for fun, to motivate me to shoot and improve. It's Pulse of coarse doesn't reflect if the picture is good or not, but it's interesting to see how an image performs and to read feedback from members.. Even if that is back slapping.... That's often all you need to fuel the next shoot...*
There are images by the great Frank Doorhof that score low. Work by Lee Jefferies that have low pulse ratings, but the images they produce effortlessly and consistently are stunning...*
