BT had done something to our line so it was split. Meant we couldn't get broadband until we pestered and they finally fixed it.
So annoying!
I spent all my money buying a top end modem and then 56k came out

Shouldn't be a warning at all tbh, I don't see why it matters the stop and back buttons on browsers are there for a reason.sbi5ar said:After reading all the responses, should the "56k beware" waring be changed to a high bandwidth warning ?

With broadband you soon hit a law of diminishing returns by increasing the speed of your line, don't you. I noticed more of a difference in browsing speed getting interleaving turned off on my line than anything else.dannyjo22 said:As i'm not a downloader I havent really noticed any difference from being on 512 with NTL in 2000 to 8meg now.
It gets upgraded every year or so with NTL and it makes little difference to me. When I got my first PC broadband was just about out with NTL so I didnt have dial up for long.
It seems unthinkable now I'm on 20mb broadband.
