580 GTX Price is up....

£379 and I have a 10% off voucher to use. Must resist.

I don't need another card,
I don't need another card,
I don't need another card,
I don't need another card.....

Palit card can be found for £385 delivered elsewhere.

Seems like a £15 - £25 premium here if you can't wait. Seems like a lot of other places are pre order only so i guess its the price you pay for early adoption and guaranteed stock:)

That's the price you pay for the best (single gpu card). Price and performance do not scale well together the nearer you get to the top.

Not surprised at all. Bear in mind the exchange rate. They would be a lot cheaper if it wasn't for the pound sucking against the dollar, it isn't OcUK at fault here really. I don't blame them for slightly marking up a hot product either.

Anyway.. surprise release came out of nowhere, well done. Damn lucky for AMD they didn't release this the first time round.

BTW... what's the stuff they 'cut out' of the 580GTX compared to the 480GTX? Can someone be more specific than Complex Computing or whatever nordic refered to it as?

From O/C's ....

Processing Cores: 512
- Shader Clock: 1544MHz
- 33% performance better than stock GTX 480
- 46% performance better than stock HD 5870 2GB
- Bus Type: PCI-Express 2.0

I keep hearing it's 15-20% faster so why does it say 33% ? is this inflated my Nvidia.

And just in case i am not IN NO WAY A AMD/ATI FANBOY. i am just asking.
