I'm an ATI card user and to be honest all you're doing in this thread is coming across as not knowing wtf you're talking about.
 
Yeah, care to point out where I'm not knowing what I'm talking about or are you just spamming this thread for fun, how about some input on the OP's problem, or is that past your intellectual capabilities.
 
mmm i got 22000+ 3dmark06 with CPU at 3.6 and card at stock, not as much as when i had my CPU at 4.4 and 4890 at 1000/1200 though...vantage score is 17000 ish
 
Very interresting reading, and thanks to all who have made a genuine effort to help out.

I have now made a few tweaks ro the catalyst settings (which is what i figured was the problem) but not yet overclocked and have my 3dmark at 23740 which I think is probably quite acceotable.

re the old drivers issue, this is a fresh install so no issues there.
