Appreciate the updates Fatboy, your post re the spare 5 VTXs was just what I was looking for, nabbed one and am thrilled to bits with the new 5850. Temps, performance, everything is spot on, very happy customer.

One slight problem is my mouse cursor keeps going absolutely enormous! Weird behaviour but I just put it down to very early drivers, hopefully the cat 9.10s will sort it or 9.11s at the latest, not really a problem to be honest it just looks weird...

To anyone sitting on the fence for one of these things(5850/5870), I'd say don't hesitate, excellent performance and compared to a few years back a reasonable price even at launch. I'm a tight git so opted for the 5850, last week I grabbed a HannsG 28" monitor too so gaming is looking great at the moment for me, that's £570 in two weeks OcUK!

I have pre-ordered an XFX card (OC894274) but really don't mind which brand I get so long as I get one of the cards with the two year warranty. Can I be moved to a brand that will be in stock sooner (say the Sapphire or Gigabyte)?

The mouse cursor going huge is happening to a friend with a 5850 as well. Sure it is just an early driver glitch.
