Just browsing the ATI 5850 cards on the main site and have noticed theres a pretty big selection and fairly big price differences between manufacturers.

My question is what exactly is the difference other than the company they were manufactured by and are the price differences justifiable ? Will say a Sapphire 5850 be pretty much the same as an XFX 5850 and which version is your preferance and why ?

All cards are made by Sapphire, another company just sticks labels to it.

Personally I'd go Asus seeing as overclocking is covered in the warranty (which is also 3 years), however seeing as they haven't had stock in the past few months, I'd suggest Sapphire. XFX seem over priced to me, VTX only offer 1 year warranty and Powercolor have poor RMA service apparently.

Auraomega.. Don't you mean.. ALL CARDS ARE MADE BY ATi

I've never heard of Sapphire making them ALL before.. :p

Your paying for the rma serivce tbh. Xfx have one of the best rma service. Sapphire have a good rma service also, however powercolour don't. Like Taken said, they are all made by Ati, just different sticker with different goodies in the box :p

Sapphire don't make the cardds lol, twas a typo if I ever saw one.

The best thing to go on is length of warranty, extra bonuses included and price.

I personally have Asus and they are fantastic, though some swear blind they have a poor rma system. It's very much a personal choice.

I think whatever you go for, you'll be getting the same card, perhaps take a look at the new Club3D selection, apparently quite an old school card manufacturer that have reappeared out of the closet.

Would have to be the biggest typo I've ever seen ;)

I'm glad you've cleared that up, I noticed they'd just appeared out of nowhere, the best part is they're factory overclocked and not overpriced because of it.

think club 3d were around in the earlier nvidia days i've heard mixed stuff about them now tho
will have to wait see if anyone buys them and has problems
