I have a ATi 5870 atm, I play COD MF2, Dawn of War II, Dragon Age, Left4Dead 2. All at native 1920x1200 max settings.

I honestly feel that the 5870 has too much power for me at the moment. What would be a reasonable downgrade? I read that 5770 in Xfire is very good, in between the 5850 and 5870. But my PSU just handles the 5870 with enough power while OCing my CPU aswell. Does 2x5770 draw more power?

Was considering the 5850 too, but thats out of stock for now... Anyone have any advice? Can't make my mind up.

BTW I'm thinking of selling the 5870 to get some money back in my pocket.

Cheers.

not realy only the fact that if you had a 5850 you could buy another at a later date and have great performance, where as if you have 2 x 5770 then you will only get ( from what i've read ) performance between 5850 and 5870. depends realy on what you want to spend 2 x5770's is a gd setup for the £££ so is just a personal preference realy

Um, this is kinda pointless....

What he said! :p

If you gonna downgrade then do it properly, grab yourself a used HD 48XX, HD 49XX or similar card from OcUk MM for £50 > £100 and enjoy your wallet full of money again! ;)

Take note of the experience and try not to get sucked up in the marketing hype in the future! . . . they are eviillllllll! :D

Keep the 5870... by the time you've fiddled around rebuying / selling cards you arent going to save a lot

But i like the way Big Wayne said! I'll have to spam a few more posts before I can access the MM :P.

Omega is right also, but I could do with a bit of money!

How many posts do you have to make before the glory of the MM is yours?

I have a few dainty relics to put on there!

I think its 250.

I'll hold out and check out the MM see whats on offer there before i decide anything.

The card is really overkill for me, aslong as the game is smooth and max settings I'm happy. No need to b like constant 100+FPS lol.

BTW I'd also have to agree with those that say keep the 5870...

I was thinking of selling mine and getting 2 5850's but not sure if its worth it now tbh

I was going to get 2 5850 and sell my 5870 but think if I change it will be for a 5950 if they are released early next year as rumoured on some sites.

It seems to me that a 5970 is only worth it if you are into overclocking etc.

Tbh I would not be up for buying a card at that price and then messing about with volts etc. Not with my limited knowledge anyhow.

WOOHOO 250 posts. How do I get on the MM?
