5900X Upgrade to 7950X3D

Did the deed, now the proud owner of a 7950X3D. What can I say ...

Now trying to get Windows 10 Core Parking working on Windows 10. Can't face a reinstall!
What's the performance difference been like? Super noticeable or meh?

I'm considering jumping from 3900X to 5950X or 7950X3D, obviously huge difference in cost and complexity.

Now everything is sorted and running properly. Yes, there is noticeable difference in everything, really pleased with the upgrade, highly recommended. Wasn’t expecting much of an improvement.

X4 Foundations is much smoother, visual studio is a dream. Very efficient and I like the way AMD have implemented the cache, simple but works.

I have a similar itch brewing, how much did you spend in the end? I've been considering a 4090 but with my psu and cpu it just aint a good idea and I can't really justify all that so I figured start with the cpu/ram/mobo. What could I get for my mine do we think?

Hi there,
I sold mine based on mates rates. Your best bet for a value would be in the MM Price Check.

SO like the OP I've just pulled the trigger. Going from 5900x to 7950x3d, G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO RGB 64GB 6000MHz and ROG STRIX X670E-F GAMING WIFI for funnzies
Nice one, you will enjoy. Just finished tweaking my memory and I'm about done.

Managed to get a nice CO of -34 for the Cache (0-7) and -21 for Non-Cache (8-15). Running PPT of 110 Watts, Tight C34 Timings @6000. R24 Cinebench Score of 2117 which is pretty good at 110 Watts. Temps are very low.

Really enjoying Starfield :)

What kind of frames increase did you get in games? Did it help Starfield?

Just got Starfield so I don’t know, cant compare. I really don’t watch frames to be honest. I think the gains are where you have a cpu intensive games like X4 and Starfield, minimums will be better. X4 runs much smoother for sure.

So far I have spent most of my time tweaking.

£400 for the CPU, Board and Memory ( 8 Pack B-Die )
£700 for the Chip, Motherboard and 32GB DDR5

Did you have 32GB DDR4 or 16 DDR4 ram to sell on in the bundle?
What was your AM4 MOBO?
Was it a members market sale or local. That's a good price you got for the bundle :)

Just trying to figure out if it's worth it for me

Hi there,
32Gb, Tomahawk X570 and a mate. The 5900X was pretty special in that it ran a decent negative offset and a CO -30. It also ran +150 MHz boost. I also sorted out all the B-Die timings so it was nice and tight.

The bundle I bought was from the MM. i have just upgraded the Memory to 64GB to get A-Die and that was over £200.
