£5k Budget, help please.

What issue is this? the only one I've heard of from some here was coil whine. And that was a few members.

The issue is because on the back of the 7970 it has 2 DVI and 1 HDMI outputs for the monitors the one on the HDMI will get screen tearing, I have found this mentioned and complained about everywhere I research them.

Here is one of a few videos I found showing the issue.

Have you tried using a DisplayPort - DVI adapter instead of using the HDMI port? Might be worth a try :)

This is just for the lulz really...

However, if you're halfway serious then you'll need a few bits n bobs to finish the watercooling :)

Don't take this too seriously please guys... Apart from the bit about the fans. That's probably true unless Asus are the only ones :-)

maybe change the monitors, as they only have Displayport input. Can someone help me out here with inputs/monitors? This spec has crossfire 7970s watercooled.

Maybe something like this?
Of course with the 3 monitors and the 256Gb SSD and the Nvidia 3d glasses.

Like the look of that build, but would the GFX cards be able to run 3 of those monitors at 120Hz?

Also 3D on all 3, does that work OK? to be honest not looked at 3D at all.

yeah they would smash it.
Uncle Petey did you put all the water cooling fittings in?
Go with uncle petey build.
Ive got similar my 2 680's easily hit 120 and above on most games, just looking to pick up 2 more benqs now.

lol, I have no frikkin idea :D
I was just taking the mick really, but replace the silly CPU* (that I added after you replied) and add a few small missing bits for the WC and it's all pretty much there if madness prevails ;)

In all honesty, I'd probably go with 7970's personally (Unless of course, 3D is a must) and lol at the £1500 triple screen - cool as it looks and no doubt functions, I'd buy three seperate monitors and try to find a triple stand.

*I have since changed it again lol

Just need speakers, headset, £500 worth of water cooling and a £500 water chiller. A bit over budget butif you can afford 5k you can afford 7 :D

You'll want to go into sound central to get proper speaker/headphones advice. I would also recommend a Razer DA if you didn't hate them so much :P

I would get 3 catleap monitors :) 7680x1440 is so much better than 5760x1080 even if it does have 3d.. I have both and always use the high Res more.. :s

Also no matter what triple screen setup you get don't get a 690 as you only have 2gb per GPU.. get 2/3 4gb 680's I run at Max on bfs with no probs on 2 cards but use just over 2gb gpu ram..

Sorry to disagree with a lot of people, but with that budget if your not doing a raid 0 512 Gb Sata III SSD setup, plus a 128 Gb min boot drive, you're doing it wrong.

Id suggest a build but I'm on my smartphone. Id easily skimp on the CPU and get a decent quad core if it means quad SLI + raid 0 SSDs can be fitted into a 5k budget.

FYI I have a 512 Gb SSD for my steam / gaming drive and its almost full. Raid 0 of those = pure win.

Also there's absolutely no need for expensive ram, it wont be any better than the Samsung green stuff, and Corsair are notorious for taking the same ram chips that other manufacturers use on their cheapo budget line, sticking on a fancy cooler and charging 3x as much for it.

I think you are going to have a problem with your cooling system. :D
