Re the 2 stroke comment above, so you've worked on VW engines before then? :D My VW TFSI goes through a bit! No low level sensor either, fail Seat.

Good pic there to show why using oils with the correct specifications is a good idea rather than following hype about certain ingredients

I went to look at a passat a few years ago at a dealer (not main) and when I asked what oil had been in it he said "10w40 only the best you know" So I told him his engine would be buggered and to do some research on the PD engine before selling it on.

Yes. It will be fine BUT! You should empty as much of the mix as you can and replace it with the correct type as the additives will eventually cause issues. But there is no urgency. Just within a few months. Something is better than nothing.
