6 Core vs 8 Core in gaming?

so in most games the 5950x and 5800x are more faster from 10900k is most games?? 1080p and 1440p??

Yeah you don't need 8 cores if the IPC is high enough to get the same job done with 6.
 
Those opting for a 6 core for now could always buy a 3600 or 3600x for as cheap as possible on deal. 3600 can be had for 180 or less. Drop in the 5900x once on deal and games for next gen are well underway.

I don't like the temps or price of the 5800x.

Check reviews, plenty of them around. Accordingly to Hardware unboxed, in there review, at 1080p and across 11 games average, they are all pretty identical, that is the 5950x, 5800x and 10900k: https://www.techspot.com/review/2134-amd-ryzen-5800x/

Some games prefer one platform or the other. Given that is 1080p numbers, expect 1440p delta to be non-existent too.
 
so base in these reviews the 5800x and the 5950x have managed to destroy the 10900k corect??

also why death standing performs better in 8 and 12 cores??? 5800 and 5950 x against 10900k?>?

all these years the 10900k was front from amd but now amd won the intel...#


do you believe that the newest upcoming games will perform better and optimized for 5800x and the 5950x ?? against 10900k?? and the upcoming rocket lakes and alder lakes.>??
 
Ive got the 5800x on pre-order but seriously considering just getting the 5600X.

Planning on playing FS2020 so more CPU the better but the gain doesnt look much.

The 5800X and 5950X performs better because they're more expensive silly. More money means better!

Not really no, especially if those upcoming games are going to be made for previous gen consoles as well. You'll see exactly the same trends in all the reviews that you're seeing now. At 1440P and above, there will be virtually no difference as everything becomes GPU bound. You may see some slight gains at 1080P like you see now, but at that resolution your game will likely be running in the hundreds of FPS and it really won't matter.

Just get a 5600X if all you do is game, putting the extra money towards a better graphics card is by far the best option and you'll actually get better performance in the long run.

yes, as the consoles have amd chiplets in them, and i feel everythign will be slowly programmed to be optimised for such
