** 6 Nations 2014**

It seems England are making a habit of letting teams get the lead then then clawing it back.

Well I'm not convinced by France's performance. I'm not unhappy with the result (clearly ;)), but neither am I blown away.

Good game by England. :)

Yeah major bummer that but far better game second half - at least tries are being scored, hate it when it's just a kicking game.

Well that was an entertaining game. France started so well rode their luck and built up a lead . England ground them down and reeled them in. England had the best of the match for my money but bad mistakes at the wrong time cost them hugely.

Farrel had without a doubt his most complete performance at flyhalf and looked very good. It was obvious that his more varied distribution gave him the opportunity for his 2nd half break. So different from his deep crabbing play of the last year.
Launchbury was fantastic, everywhere and so many turn overs and clear ups.
Hartley had a brilliant first half so aggressive with ball or in defence.
Care really turned the game in the second half well worth his start. The 4 way competition for scrum half has raised the quaity at that position immensely, shame Lancaster doesn't apply this idea to flyhalf.

Plisson for France and the centres too, were pretty ananymous. Huget was fantastic and was Duclin at full back but otherwise few French players stood out.

Overall whilst this may have sunk Englands championship it was very promising, the team played a better style and many positions now have genuine competition, although our props seem to be slipping at their scrummaging ability.

Good game, great to watch a shame about the result.

Although Wales just about deserved their win I couldn't help feeling a bit sorry for Italy, a bad mistake/bounce in the first few minutes meant they were always chasing and they showed a lot of spirit to get to that score in the end.

Despite the fact that England lost I think if I was an England fan I might be slightly the happier of the two sets of fans, after a first half where they seemed to get blown away they really picked it up in the second and were close to winning it.

To blow it wide open again all it takes is for Ireland to put up a forceful display at home to Wales, otherwise it's looking like another Wales title with small chance of France turning up for their remaining games.

Nigel Owens to Billy Twelvetrees: "You didn't know that? How long have you been playing this game?!"

:D That was brilliant. Brian Moore has a serious crush on Nigel Owens.

Great game between France and England. Proper competitive rugby and a close encounter, a superb watch if not the highest quality.

As I Welshman I can't help but be relieved and also a little disappointed at Saturdays result, Italy are making solid progression each year, and their new coach doesn't seem to be messing about! Today was the quietest I've seen Faletau for a long while, will be interesting to see the Scotland v Italy game.

Unlucky for the English, it was a cracking game of rugby though. Good start to the weekend so far, I am looking forward to Ireland v Scotland now today!

New Irish squad is off to a good start against Scotland but both France and England look tough after yesterday. Ireland and France will be a good game.

Scotland could have done better, they looked a lot more tired than the Irish towards the end.

Gah, Scotland looked quite positive and were attacking in the first half but all too familiarly they didn't manage to translate possession or position into points. Well done to Ireland for being much more clinical with their finishing and for having a line-out that was even vaguely reliable, bit dubious on 99% of their put-ins at the scrum mind. I don't think any were approaching straight - if you can get away with it then I'd almost say fair enough but for all the referees are focusing on the scrum staying up and removing most of the hit they should be checking the put-in doesn't completely negate the point though. Not that the above would have made much difference to the score but it would be nice if it was refereed more consistently.

Yeah they were unlucky, looking forward not to see if Ireland can derail the Welsh otherwise they are likely to make it three in a row.
