6 Nations (SPOILER)

true. shame the game isn't in cardiff...

I can remember last 6N when Wales ran us close to a surprise at the Millenium (It was so much better when it was The Arms Park!) so when we came back for the WC warm up and we fielded our seconds we were really fired up and blew you off the paddock, I was at that game and we were amazed to see Welsh fans leaving after 30 minutes. I don't think The Millenium gives you the same advantage at home (Again particularly compared to the The Arms Park) as Twickenham gives to England.
I really hope this is a new age for Welsh Rugby because the 6N definitely needs another competative side, and that the fans keep there feet on the ground and remember that a few short months ago they were being run close by so called 'minnows' (I mean that without trying to sound patronising). I hope that there isn't too much expectation from this improvement in form just in case it doesn't materialise, particularly after Hanson clears off after this championship.

I think you're right about the Millennium Stadium not quite giving us the boost the old Arms Park did, but purely because we've yet to create much history there (apart from beating South Africa in the 1st game!)

There's been a lot of fundamental changes in the Welsh game that've been needed for a long time, and although we have nowhere near the money you english do (£30million to win the WC!!), I think possibly we've turned a corner.

No, but a have a very deep love of the history and the intricasies of Rugby, and even as a pure bred mongrel that it is to be an Englishman I can see that the World of Rugby without a competative Wales is a much poorer place. If you speak to most of the 30 or so players that make the core of the England Elite squad most of them will tell you that at some point in their early playing days a lot of their basic skills were taught to them by a grizzled battle-worn games teacher/coach from a valley in Wales.
In the modern proffesional era you have to always be looking to the future but it is the past that gives the game it's colour!.

PS Dafadau m8, don't worry about the defeat at Lansdowne today, Wales have been relying on a single game plan to play and the Irish planned for that (we experienced this in 1999/2000/01) and out-witted it, The players will develop other plans over time.

Basics yes, but it's where you go from there, i.e. MJ went to NZ to learn his trade from a master and was nrealy an NZ U21. Than god he came back! It would be sad if Wales where to go under. Have played the game since I was about 11 and am 31 now (Prop). Played along side some good palyers in my time.

ARP Warden was only havin a larf with ya.;)
