6 years old too young for Terminator 2?

There have been studies on this subject. This is talking about young kids exposed to violent media, movies, games etc.

"According to our results, teachers rated exposed children as more antisocial.
Antisocial behaviours include; a lack of remorse, lying, insensitivity to the emotions of others, and manipulating others.

Our results also reveal significant associations between exposure to violent media and classroom attention problems. Furthermore, exposed children were reported to show more signs of emotional distress; in terms of sadness and a lack of enthusiasm.

The results were similar for boys and girls."

I just don't see why anyone would choose to have their child watch it. There's lots of things made for children. It's not like they have limited options.

Not sure why people seem to want to skip past the joyful innocence of being a child and subject them to unnecessary stuff.

I watched terminator as a teenager. That was OK. But I have no intention of rushing my daughter to watch adult themed stuff.

My boy watched T2 at age 9.
The way I decide whether something is watchable is I ask the question "Is it less or more violent than Avengers Endgame?".

There is significant swearing in T2 though. The way we deal with swearing in our house as I've told my son that swear words belong to adults. They are only for adults. Children can hear them but cannot use them.

I was about 8 or 9 when I first watched this, I was on holiday at a caravan site and I befriended another kid there and we went back to his family’s caravan and his dad had the video cassette which he put on for us to watch :D.

Watched loads of these sorts of films from being 3/4 years old. Depends on the child but I don't see why not. They're all make believe anyway and far worse can happen out there in the real world.

Possibly, it all depends on how responsible the kid is.

Took him last weekend for the first time.

We had an under 16's open day, air rifles only mind you.

That was 10 shots from 25 meters, second out of three cards.

I've had one bloke bring his son that was 5.

Absolutely... Nothing like introducing a dystopian civilization ending nuclear holocaust human genocide film to a young impressionable mind.

Chances are it'll blow right past him like a nuclear shock wave.

Surely only the shooty start and lorry sequences are of interest to a child, the rest is suspense and philosophical thought...
Coffin minigun I guess :p

Introducing a kid to real weapons and then a gun fest film... Don't blur the lines too much yet.

Training him up for an Ender's game scenario?

Its not like a 6 year old is going to even understand, they'd loose interest at some point I imagine.

Jingle all the way instead to keep with Arnie or Kindergarten Cop

I saw Terminator, Robocop etc at about that age. I have a feeling they were censored tv versions though that were a thing on terrestrial TV in the 1990s.
