Alright guys I'm currently doing a course on computer games design, and I am looking to buy a computer that can play the latest games as I will be doing reviews on games, so a laggy computer would definitely set me back on my work. And I will also be using UDK (Unreal Dev Kit) and other game programming software (Also photoshop/flash/etc). Could anyone spec me? The budget is around £600-£700 but could maybe be stretched if really needed. Thanks :)

Oh and I looked at this computer on here http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-253-OE but apparently if I build my own computer I can lower the cost significantly. So how easy is it to just jump in and build your own computer? Any replies greatly appreciated.

Building a pc is relatively easy. There are many videos online. Just make sure you don't do anything stupid like forcing components together. They should fit together with ease.

One tip, Getting a good case can aide in ease of construction.

I can't do you a proper spec as im at work but...

I5 3570k
Z77 motherboard
8gb ram
7850.

Something like that.

I can't give you a recommendation on what build you can get, but, i can say, last year i built my first build last year, and aslong as you follow the instructions it'll be simple enough, like doomedspeed saidl, they should fit together with ease, you'll be okay :)

Thanks doomedspeed i'll take a look at them parts now, and yeah i've been looking at online videos and it looks simple enough, its just getting the parts that fit together and the right system for what i'm trying to do thats the hard bit for me haha

Welcome to the forum.
Have you any components from an existing PC you can reuse?
For instance- sata hdd/dvd, monitor, OS, etc. As the money saved on these will help you get a better system.

yeh should be fine. but just take your time. and if you get stuck post on here and someone will help :)
Change the HDD for Western Digital Blue and the Card under load is loud. So i would go with Saphhire or Gigabyte.
Speakers - MicroLab M700 40W 2.1 Speaker System
why? its all fine! and card isnt loud..

ahh great im ordering it this weekend, do you think that case with those parts will be simple enough to set up? :)

Offers have changed today so idlemans spec is out of date. The prices are now incorrect.

Yes the build is fine.

Dont change the card and HDD, the MSI Twin FrozrIII coolers are known to be quiet.

Ah right I saw the benchmarks yeah the 660 looks much better, but I did notice there are no speakers on the other list I will have to add those. Couldn't order it this weekend as my parents were away, but ordering it next weekend, excited. :D
