Over there...
Simple question really and i'd google but on my phone its a bit crappy.

Got a call through from work for doing 61 in a 50, what can one expect?

Cheers

Driving a works van etc. and it was caught speeding whilst in his care, worked called him to make sure the right person gets the points. Simple enough.

Ah, fair enough :)

What does it matter he wants to know 'points & fine'

It doesn't take much thought to come up with a viable answer to what "got a call through work" means.

Well actually it entirely depends on what he meant - I was trying to ascertain if he had actually been caught by someone who could actually give him a fine/points or just his employer

What do you mean your "phone its a bit crappy"? Develop this point and we may be able to help. [/iaind]

Que?

Try 3pts and £60. ;)

Haha damn Ninja. I put £60 down originally, and I was like no... that's not right... Changed it to 40, then back to 60 again.

Talked my self out of it, would be rubbish on Who Wants to be a Millionaire ;) :p

I thought the title "61 in a 50 - points & fine?" said it all?

Why would you think anything else

OP - As above 3 Points and £60 fine.

I read the first post pretty easily as, work got a letter from plod, who wants the points and fine? Tell us in 14 days time.

So work phoned him to check that he is this child killer who should be locked up in the Hague.

Good lord you're an easily irritable bunch aren't you - it wasnt obvious what he meant to me so thought I'd clarify.....jeez

I think it's a pretty reasonable response from the other posters given that you just waded in laid it down there. The OP was pretty clear imo.

As echoed above, 3 points £60 most likely.

With only three points it probably won't effect the insurance at all.

if it does, it'll be negliable.

I got 3 points last year and it nearly doubled my insurance renewal. After shopping around I got it down, but it is still over £150 more than it would be if I didn't get points (this is going by last years price and from running quotes with and without the points).

Laid what down? I asked a question!

Not having been involved in driving company vehicles, I wasnt sure if that is a) how it worked and b) what he meant

Wheras the 3 points I received made no real difference to my insurance premium.

OP: Based on my own experience you will get 3 points and a £60 fine (as others have already stated).

Do you know why that might be?

I'm 24, license for 8 years and currently 2 years NCB (was named driver before). Is it down to other people with 3 points with my car in my area or something?

hahah this kicked up a notch!

Thanks everyone for the answers (and a lol or 2). Company car - NIP gets sent to my employer, from i am assuming a scamera van camera.

Any chance of that driver training + fine malarky? Have a clean license, but as i rep a clean license would be better moving forward too. Insurance is non-issue for me as its a company car.
