Do you know why that might be?
I'm 24, license for 8 years and currently 2 years NCB (was named driver before). Is it down to other people with 3 points with my car in my area or something?
Probably a combination of all and every detail on your insurance quote.
It could be the car (I have found some cars (Impreza for example) show a massive hike whereas others don't), area you live in, your actual insurance company (how much of a risk are you to them - not you personally but people in your age category, area, car type, job etc).
Sometimes (and I am going on abit now) the insurance premium makes no sense at all. The best example I have is the new Seat Ibiza Cupra (curiosity more than anything here). Its yearly premium with elephant was ~£360 whereas the less powerful and cheaper FR was ~£550.

IIRC this is only for minor breach of the speed limit in a 30 zone (up to 35 in a 30 for example), I may be wrong however. As yours was 10mph over its unlikely you would get the option.
