6300 + DS4 At 3.5 Gigs

Easyrider your confused a lot my friend ;) and nice to see you in one of my threads :D

How you and others measure stability is your personal preference. I measure stability in the fact I can game and the rig does not crash. There is no way in this wide world I'm going to leave my machine on running for 12 plus hours doing nothing apart from contribute to global warming.

Yes I do think running prime for 2 hours is enough WHEN YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING ;)

LOL you just blew up your Asus P5W DH lmao! :D

Gaming stable is not prime stable.Posting Super PI does not warrant a stable system.

I will be impressed with your clock when I know and can see that it can process Data effectively.

Without this your overclock means nothing IMO :)

There is to much of this about TBH.High FSB and no screenies of the PC actually being used or stressed other than for 15 seconds running super PI.

Devious for example clocks fantastically and backs it up with shots of his PC under super stress 13hrs prime.

I dont see the problem you only have to run the test once.If it fails then you need to go back to the drawing board. As its not doing its job correctly.

Processing Data.

easyrider 12 hours of prime is overkill, 8 hours is the max imho.

anyways , i have ran 20 loops of 3dm05 and its rock stable at 3220 , seems to be stable but i am just too bored to let it run for 8 hours :D

what about SNM long?

asgard i have repleid to eva in XS have a look

OK 8 hrs will do.

I dont see the problem,80 % of people get 8hrs sleep.Just leave it running overnight.

I agree, prime for 12 hours is a waste of time, the most I would do is 4-5 hours. I remember doing a 12 hour prime on a 3700+ Sd, and it passed, but failed in games. I've already primed my 6300 for 5 hours and another 5 hours of blend tests.

Just doing another 5 hours now. I just need some better memory, my limit due to the memory is 470fsb, priming @ 460fsb now(3.22). There again for value geil 2 gig 5300 this is some overclock.

Those are two very impressive overclocks, Mr. The Asgard and Irakliks F. C. It's nice to finally see another uberchip hip the market at a decent price.

Easyrider: I'm not sure what issue you take with their overclocks for not running Prime 95 for 8hrs/core... as far as I'm concerned, a computer is stable if it runs my games without crashing, burns CDs without corrupting them and lets me run Photoshop CS for as long as I want. I don't use SETI or anything else so it makes very little difference to me. If the same can be said for The Asgard and Iraklis, then so be it.

Do you really think the blitzed runs of 3dMark2k7/SuperPi at 16GHz are remotely stable? PRobably not, but they are very impressive. And if it's what the user wants to achieve, then that's fair enough, IMHO.

Prime isnt that great a test of stability Ive found, its just effective at building up a bit of heat and its usefull because it lets you do other things at the same time.
If you really want to test it you should also have the gpu tested at the same time and prime doesnt test its results as closely as other programs do Ive noticed. That go interface version is better then the old one as well

.

I don't take issue for their overclocks.I'm just asking for proof that their system can be deemed stable.

This only helps people make choices on what Hardware to purchase.
I would say that the majority of serious overclockers like their system to be stable or the overclock is not sucessful.

The mere fact that prime stabilty is not featured makes believe that the DS3 with a 6300 at 3.5ghz is not fully stable.

If it is then asking for someone to perform a prime test and show the results should not be a problem.

I will be getting a 6300 for a second rig and would like to know if the DS3 is stable at 500 FSB thats all.

Burning CD's and bits of photoshop does not stress a system.
The fact that my system at 3.8ghz is prime stable for 8hrs helps me manage my temps etc.. and gives me peace of mind that my computer is running correctly.

When priming my cpu can reach 60c underload so i know it will never overheat.

When gaming it reaches around 51c so gaming is not even stressing the cpu at all in all honesty.

ive seen some posts on "xs" of conroe clocks which are prime stable, but bomb out in games like oblivion. personally i think S&M is harsher test. for the cpu though!

Easyrider,

1. I have not got a DS3 this board is a DS4. Try reading my post ;)

If you had a Paypal account I would give you 10P then you could ring someone who gives a ....

Trust me I'm NOT going to loose any sleep on what you think :D

Your point being ?? There are many reasons why a board could fail. I don't remember exactly saying any where how it failed?

I have been in this game far too long and it always amazes me how a few poeple with a high post count and wise guy by there name seem to think they know it all

Ive primed for over 24 hours and the machine was still unstable due to bad volts at idle, try occt which does a full 30 min cycle with graphs of everything and of course s+m is the ultimate machine killer, it it works on conroe?

DS3 DS4 whatever.. I am looking at a DS3 for a second system.

Insults do not get you stable. Two hours is not long enough. Its clearly documented in thousands of overclocking guides dotted around the web.

Just Do the test prove me wrong please.

a lot of people take screenies for bragging rights and epenis size.
I just want a screenie of the thing under maxload thats all. :) ;)

just a note for prime users, if you change the time / date when prime is running, it can give hours days prime stable illusion ,

i dont trust it :p

Something like this will do with the DS4 at 500FSB :)

easyrider, that proves nothing, so you left your computer priming for 13 hours. Mine is still priming now for 6 hours, but unlike you, I'm using it to download, burning dvd's, talking on voip and chatting on irc. Surely this is a better test than leaving a computer on overnight running 2 primes?

So let me re-cap

two primes
downloading
burning dvd's
chatting on irc
using my voip phone

Look at my post earlier and see all the stuff thats running.
