64GB Patriot Viper Steel DDR4-3600 - Help?

update...

I had Patriot memory 64GB kit (3600Mhz, CL18) that was using SK Hynix chips. I could not get that to work at all on 2 systems. x570 Elite with 5950x & 2600. Also on B450 with Ryzen 2600. I have tried whatever combo of voltage etc but it did not work. I have RMA'ed that kit and it came back with the same kit but using SpecTek (Micron) chips. This kit does work with my x570 (did not test with B450).

To replace my original "SK Hynix" kit, i have bought Kingston 64GB kit which came with Micron chip set (again 3600Mhz, CL18) and that's been working ok. Since i now have 64GB more now with "good" Patriot kit, I now have this Kingston kit and Patriot kit both installed, making up 128GB on x570 board. for now, i am using it at 3600Mhz CL18. vsoc at 1.11v and it's going great (for now).

It seem that Patriot is now using SpecTec on this kit since late last year (2020). This review https://www.kitguru.net/components/...iper-steel-series-3600mhz-64gb-2x32gb-review/ shows it's using SpecTek and is from late 2020. Manufacturing date on my kit was from 5th week of 2021.

The 4000 and faster kits use Samsung B-die and are great quality, however, the slower sticks (< 4000) use lower quality Hynix chips.

Yep unfortunately you need the 4000 or higher stuff to get the Samsung B-Die memory which works very well. Only got 16gb in mine but got it chugging along nicely at 3733 CL14 IF 1:1

Sorry for replying to an old thread, but I just purchased Viper Steel DDR4 64GB (2 x 32GB) 3600MHz Kit from Amazon paring it with 5950x and still haven't purchased the motherboard, but was thinking of getting this one MSI MAG X570S TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI.
Would I have compatibility issues? I can't find any other memory at 64gb in stock at the moment for a reasonable price.
I am also planning on increasing to 128GB at some point.

I don't know about the 32gb sticks but it's likely you'll have problems at 3600MHz if they're anything like the 16gb. I was stable at 3200 with worse timings.

I paid slightly less for Crucial Ballistix and it was stable straight away under DOCP settings. Better timings, too.

Hated using my x570 tomahawk for memory overclocking.

Wasn’t good at running different timings and higher frequencies.

Not sure why so many people struggle to use Patriot but it could be a number of factors, including the ram.
