Hi guys, just got my hands on a 650D, and I'm looking at it wondering, what colour L.E.D fans do I stick in here? Or do I just buy some cathodes?

The front intake and top intake are obviously 200m, but I was thinking of going for white fans, but can't find any!

Anybody got this case and got a nice colour scheme going on? Would love to see some pics to see what you've done. I'm not scrolling through the 'new case' gallery as I will be in there forever!

Can you even change the front 200m fan on them?

The front fan is changeable. I've ordered a 200mm MegaFlow fan to replace it. Ideally I wanted one with no LEDs or White LEDs. However I couldn't find one. Instead I've ordered the blue LED version and plan on replacing the LEDS with white ones eventually.

It should then tie in nicely with the front power + HDD lights. Plus the WC piping in the case is white too.

The inside of the case could do with some light as currently you cant really see anything. Are there any bog standard white cathodes available?

I have just bought some orange led 200mm fans to replace the stock ones. my front fan is making a horrible whiney noise. Even on low its audible. Is this the case for most, or just mine?

seems to be quite common, mne was fine, noise wasnt out of the ordinary, however still pretty loud at full whack though, however whilst modding mine to fit a 360mm rad i cut out the grill in front of the front fan whilst i had the dremel out, now its silent.

i went for all Blue LED Bitfenix spectres with a few random blue led's thrown in to highlight parts.
stuck with the stock 200mm front fan for now as i want to keep the drive cage at the front suspended from the 5.25 bay, but looking to modify the case to mount the drives on the floor(using rubber grommets from ANTEC cases), then i'll be able to do away with the HDD cage and mount a thicker fan(most likely a blue LED one to keep the theme running).

orange will be an interesting change to see:)

Ahh thanks for the info mate. I'll try to cut the plastic away from the front fan to see if that makes a difference for now. Looking forward to seeing the orange fans in their, just a shame the mobo is
blue! Will get some pics up when they arrive.

Seems that cutting the front grill off fixes the problem but other methods can be used as discussed in the thread.

Mine is still noisy... ish. I've sorta got used to it now. Might cut the grill out eventually.

Thanks for the link mate. For now I have stuck some extra rubber washers on the fan to move it away from the grill slightly. Has only made a very minor improvement so I think I'll have to buy a dremel and cut the whole thing off.

Just ordered a dremel from the rainforest site. Hopefully I'll have some updates in the next few days.

I have a H100 mounted in my top grill. The front 200mm fan is so loud it's actually quite disturbing, so I keep that off (unplugged from the fan controller) when I'm not gaming or folding. I'm not a big fan of big fans (huh?) when it comes to it I'd rather stick a couple of quiet 120mm's in there, but there's no option to do that. Anyone know if it would be possible to mod space in the front grill for a couple of 120mm's? It doesn't look like it.

I'd like to see the result Sponge! I was tempted to get a dremel a few weeks ago from Wilko but didn't go for it in the end.

I was worried about making a bad job of it (have never used a dremel before). But even if you were to make a bad job of the cutting, I guess you could always get some rubber edging stuff to conceal it.

Yeah I've never used one before either:D It's behind the front panel/dust filter anyway so you won't be able to see it 99% of the time.

I just want this noise to stop! I usually keep my computer on all night whilst I sleep to download stuff, but their is no chance of that happening until I get my big tool on the job:)

Another question... have you managed to install a fan controller in the case? I have a Scythe Kaze Master and I can't get it to stay in place with the tool-less drive bays.

not sure what he is using but my lamptron FC2 is such a tight fit that the facia is literally jammed in holding the whole fan controller in place, if it wasnt for that it wouldnt be deep enough for the tool-less drive bay to hold it in.

my only other suggestion would be either cable ties or black-nasty the answers to all lifes problems:D

Nah, not bothered with a fan controller. Just using the stock one but it is poor.

Was looking at getting one but decided I didn't like the how the dials would stick out from the case so stopped looking.

Installed a CM MegaFlow 200mm at the front yesterday. It seems to have reduced the noise by quite a bit.

I now think that it is the three 120mm Scythe GTs which are making the most noise.

I haven't had a chance to do any modding over the past few days. Like I said I got myself some Betfenix orange fans for it, and I'm going to dremel the front grill.

Will definitely get it done over the next couple of days, pics included:)

I'm looking at getting this case myself but have been put off by all the reports or horrible noise from the front fan. I too do not own and have never used a dremel so i'd really appreciate any picture guides to someone doing it :)

Tomorrow I'm going to tackle it mate. Never done it myself either:)
