650D suggestions

NesteQ FanMax in black.

It has 8 channels so depending on your set-up it may be overkill, but I view it as room for expansion!

The cables are just long enough to reach the rear 120's through the routing hole in the case and the fascia matches quite closely to the effect of the 650d imo.

FC5 arrived today :D

The three fans on the right dials are all the same. Any reason why the one on the far right is running at 200RPM slower than the other two?

I went a bit more extreme with modding mine :D. Bought a CM mega flow but i still wasn't happy with the noise or airflow it gave. So opted to use 2 quality 120mm fans. The lower one cools the hdd and the top one has unrestricted airflow into the case.

I have also removed the mesh filter from the removable grill at the front as it looked a mess, constantly covered in white dust. A big design flaw when they put a smart looking front on the case as its then ruined by a dust covered filter.

I'm going to attach 2 foam filters directly in front of the fans, so they are still accessible through the removable grill, but the front will look smart without dust all over it. It should also stop dusty air being sucked in through the gaps between the front panel and the case chassis, meaning less dust inside the case.

I might get some of that rubber trim and neaten up the cut edges. Looks good, even though it will never be seen by anyone but myself xD.

what's that Akasa thing? Does it have a thin piece of steel in the middle which you used to screw the fans into?

Also what is that rubber tubing called or where can I get it from which you guys have placed around the edges of the 200mm front grill cut out?

edit - nvm found it

Yeah, its a piece of 1.2mm stainless steel that I had left over from when I built my kitchen. I then covered both sides with Akasa paxmate foam to kill any vibration. The steel/foam panel is also sat on top of a foam strip and held into place with rubber fan mounts through the holes for the 200mm fan. So no chance of any vibrations :D

Needs tidying up a bit with the dremel and some of that rubber gasket put on to cover the rough edges.

I have now removed the dust filter sheet from the front grill and put some removable foam filters directly in front of the fans. That way the front grill doesn't constantly look a mess.

I think I'll be doing something similar. I was meant to receive my Scythe GT's today but the etailer (not OCUK) sent me the complete wrong ones. Personally I think they were trying it on - muppets!

Anyway the Betfinix Spectre Pro 200mm (front intake) I received today imo is too loud. Additionally it sounds like the bearings are making a screeching noise at random intervals, but I will need to remove the fan out of the case to eliminate the chance that the blades maybe rubbing against the front mesh I cut out. (I doubt that is causing it).

The only good thing about the Spectre Pro is that it does push a lot of air. But it looks like i'll be going down the sheet metal route with 2X120mm fans.
