I have an LG w2486 monitor 60hz and a 680.
when i play battlefield without v sync i end up getting screen tear.
when v sync is on im still not 100% happy with the smoothness.
Im not sure what to think about Adaptive at the moment.
Should i just buy a new monitor???
As i know its not my rig letting me down.

Your right, deffo not your rig, you should be running bf3 maxed averaging 70 _ 80fps.

I would go for the 120hz monitor though, I did and noticed a big difference, it just feels much smoother and for some reason with my 60hz monitor fraps would never show above 60fps. Good luck

Vsync.

yeah i do get upto 90+ sometimes with the 680 thats not the problem i just get screen tear. I Just need to switch to a 120hz monitor i think.
I do put vsync on still not saw its 100% smoothness. Maybe im just splitting hairs

Maybe your monitor is just poor then... I used to have an old Dell monitor that no matter what I did used to get screen tearing, once I upgraded it was all good.

Definitely. I don't think they're ideal for Surround (3 screens) due to the thick bezel but for a single 1080p monitor for gaming, I don't think it gets any better. The screen response is superb.

You really can't beat 120hz for BF3 and the likes, It's like a new game altogether. The bezels aren't even that wide on them, I have one myself and I've seen a lot worse.
