6900k or 6850K for new PC

Well I won't be doing any recording or editing or things like that, just pure gaming really. However I definately do not want to be upgrading the Mobo and CPU constantly, The only upgrading I want to worry about for as long as possible is graphics.

The Guys have advised you well, i'm running a 3770k from 2012 and i'm still getting told not to bother but the itch is driving me crazy,

Your thread has helped me out no end.

I think your doing the right thing GPU wise please dont go crazy and buy the new Titan X, I have got the T-shirt. wait for full fat Pascal mate and you will be setup for a good few years.

Good Luck with your new PC. RIP grandma knowing He's going to game on !

I'm also on a 3770k.

I'm waiting to see what the Optane SSDs (3D X-point memory) are like that are supported with Kaby Lake in ~6 months.

If Kaby Lake can give me ~25% more IPC, ~10% higher clocks (I'm running 4.3 GHz atm), ~4000 MHz RAM, and a ~3GB/s read/write drive then I'll probably upgrade.

Waiting for that also gives me the chance to see if Zen is any good.
