Hey all,

I'm not really feeling this spec at all but I've been tweaking one a mate did on a competitor site to get the bits from a decent shop for him :o

His aim is to get another HD 6870 for chrimbo and crossfire it so the graphics are quite weak. Can anyone tweak this around so it stays in the £700 budget and has a bit more oomph for Bf3? :)

He doesn't fancy overclocking just yet either so I left the retail cooler in there.

Ta muchly.

Here you go, re-done the spec:)

Did you need an optical drive?

Hmmm I'll go with nope for the meantime, I built his last system about 3 years ago and optical drives didn't move along too much since then (totally forgot the psu though, I'm used to thrashing mine).

I hoped you'd appear, a spec thread isn't done till you've posted in it. :p

Looks like a good choice to me, I'll go with that when he shows up with the cash tonight.

Thanks all. :)

If he has a DVD drive and its SATA and not IDE? then your ok.

Its a lot of effort to go round and check :p

There is £20 delivery charge on your spec I can knock out anyway to add a sata dvd-writer. :)

Well reminded though, I wouldn't have.

would have said knock the cpu to oem(unless you need the 3yr warranty) to save another £10(was £17 saving just the other day) and get http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-005-AN&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=1395
but its pre-order so not sure if your friend can wait like a week/week and a half and it puts it ~£10 over budget.
