7700k 4.8Ghz bundle packaging, is this normal?

My old 2500k gave up last week (well I think it was the mother board) so naturally I jumped on Overclockers to find a quick replacement.

I picked up the 7700k 4.8 bundle as it had everything I needed and I really didn't have the luxury of time to go through everything. (I needed the machine this weekend.) Yeah you pay a bit more, but time was of the essence.

When the package arrived, I was surprised to see the CPU packed with no anti-static bag, in a box with two bits of sponge that didn't fill the box so the process just slipped out. Is that a normal way to post a CPU??

Couple of other issues as well. The CPU cooler had quite a few dents.

And one of the fans had a sticker on that was impossible to remove without leaving residue. (The other was stuck to the other side so came off easily..)

All in it feels a bit disappointing. If this is whats '8 Pack Approved', then right now I guess that doesn't mean much.

The CPUs always get shipped like that and are fine although that oem box looks like it's for nvme drive not cpu.

Come on man heat gun or hairdryer to remove any sticker.

The asetek cooler u can return for another one if the fins are badly damaged. I think by the pics it will work fine.

Every radiator (about 30) I have ever used has turned up brand new but still with a couple of bent cooling fins, this is quite normal and very difficult to prevent.

The stickers are supposed to stay on the fans but as 8 Pack said you can get the hairdryer out if you want to remove them.:)

I would send the cooler back. I had a dent on my H110i GT when it arrived and corsair replaced without issue, the new item I got was flawless tbh honest with what these cost the packaging in these shots could be better.

I'd leave it...The fins are bent easily, that's not going to hamper performance...

As for the stickers, you took them off - and when have stickers ever come off easily lol

I would have no expectation of the stickers on the fans I've ever bought to have come off cleanly if I were to try to remove them. They clearly haven't invited removal.

Aslong as temps were fine I wouldn't worry about the condition of the fins, they're always bent to some degree.

I would send back the aio, I got a Antec one and the rad was perfect!

the way I look at it is if you wanted to resell the cooler you would loose value due to this and its not your fault.

OEM cpus come like that and think retails come in the intel box

My HWLabs radiators were delivered in perfect condition with no bent fins whatsoever.

That Corsair rad has taken a bashing.

Similar to the bundle I bought ages ago.

Cpu was packaged similarly, it worked fine. It's not like cpu have easily damaged pins any more.

My aio also had some light dents. Nothing that would affect performance, and the fans completely hide them in my system.

You can remove those stickers.

The Cooler Master Seidon 240V I just bought was in perfect condition.

Not sure I'd be happy with the condition of that rad regardless of whether it worked OK.
