7700k availability?

Looking forward to seeing some reviews. Been out the loop since I upgraded to my current i7 4770K but fancy a bit of an upgrade (need to do a full reinstall anyway soon). Granted it seems like intel are still pushing out minor gains but hopefully these will clock reasonable well. Would mainly be using this for flight simulators so a high clocking cpu is essential and gpu rather less important.

lol, do you actually know anything about Kabylake?

It's worth waiting for...

All I've read so far is that it's rumoured to clock to 5Ghz on air.

Assuming that 5Ghz is reachable on the average chip, then that's a decent increase over Skylake where 4.5-4.6Ghz was the maximum on air for an average chip without extreme voltage.

I don't expect any IPC gain at all.

everything rumoured to oc to 5ghz since athlon xp :p

ill eat my shoes if they all do 5ghz on air.

It's only a 300-400Mhz increase from the average Skylake chip - something entirely possible given that Kabylake is on Intel's '14nm+' process - which has improved electrical characteristics or Skylake's bog standard '14nm'.

Very much looking forward to this release, LN2 will be ordered for xmas in readiness, hoping for 7Ghz :D fingers will be crossed for some nice silicone!
