hi,

i'm currently runnin bf2 in 1280x1024, x4 aa @ high settings

And my fps is not high enough? [not sure if u can c in screen, but top left is showing like only 30 fps]

fps does go up to 50's & 60's, but it spends a lot of time @ 40 or worse on that map?

You have 4x AA on and the map has a lot of stuff going on real-time, of course it will test that system, especially since it's not an incredibly powerful CPU.

Or if you use Ati tray enable the On Screen display u can have things like fan speed temps fps on screen while you play. If you overclock then its handy as it saves having fraps running along with OC software.

ATi X1900XT at stock, 2.5Ghz X2

Full AA and AF, 40+FPS except in smoke :)

That seems low to me, I have rubbish drivers too

ive been running BF2 @ 1024x768, 8xAA forced, 16xAF and all the optional extras forced eg Gamma Correct AA and Transparency AA. I rarely see it go below 60fps on a 3500 Venice, 1GB OCZ DDR400 and a 7800GTX.

thats about the frames i get on my GT 256, if u can try upping the res a bit and see if its a sort of system/cpu limitation that will meant you get the same performance at a higher res

cool, cheers.
well looks like im doign better than the OP, and ive only got a [email protected] and a 7800gt@stock. all settings within the game high with 4xAA. driver settings default too.
looks like something is very wrong there.

Hmms must be something else i run almost same system and get 60-70fps with 4x aa multisamples and gamma correct AA with 2x aniso no probs smooth as a babys *** i have set shadows to medium quality as well apart from that its at defaults.

edit:woah just realised you have a 512 gtx  something seriously wrong then

which nvidia drivers u running?

mine runs at between 70 to 80 fps, thats at 1280x1024, 2xAA, everything on high. driver set at default.

Amd 3800 newcastle
2gig of geil ram
powercolor x1800xt 512
all at stock

right i have amd 4000+ a gig of ram and a x850xt pe and i have settings on all high at 4x aa (use to before my ram started dropping textures) and my fps hovered at 45-65 and sometimes maxed out at 99.9 when flying. i dunno why but my stuff allways seems to work better than in benchmarks...

backup, reinstall windows, basics only latest drivers 83.10 and then try BF2 see if that helps, if not sell your XPS (keep the GPU) and get an X2 4400+ based system with 2GB RAM
