7800X3D temp concerns

If in my pc
You still see 3 separate drives
Not using raid
Change it to ahci

And that's referring to sata raid
Looks like you have no sata drives anyway?
M2 raid will be a separate setting

If you don't know, you likely aren't using raid. You can set it back to ACHI next time you are in the BIOS.

Okay, its now back as ACHI. Thanks!

Okay I've downloaded memtest86 and prepared my usb stick - I'll run the test overnight and report back. Does EXPO need to be enabled for the test or doesn't it matter?

I've decided to leave EXPO off today to see if I get any problems. I've not played any games yet (thats a night time thing!) but had no general problems with my PC so far today.

I really appreciate all of the help and advice I've been given :)

Thought I'd better win some wife points back after being sat at my PC scratching my head for 4 days, so we watched a movie - and left memtest running so the evening wasn't a total waste :p

4 Passes with EXPO off, no errors.

I was kinda hoping for some errors, so I could pin down the problem. Is it worth re-running the test with EXPO on?

I need to have a couple of long sessions gaming now over the next few days to double check, but the shorter periods I've played since I turned EXPO off I've had 0 crashes.

Other than that I'm out of ideas. I guess at worst I still have at least 7 months left on my warranty (maybe more, I can't remember its length) so I have time on my side, but its niggling away not knowing what caused it and why.

Turned EXPO back on and ran memtest over night... PASS

I guess I leave EXPO on for a bit now and see what happens? I updated the motherboard BIOS yesterday so that might have had an effect. Other than that, whats next on the list of suspects?!?

I'd go back to using your PC normally and see what happens.

There's a possibility that if the RAM was at fault, the subsequent BIOS update might have improved RAM compatibility, specifically with the make/model you have.

I'll leave EXPO on for the the foreseeable future, depending upon what happens. Hopefully the BIOS update will correct any issues.

How unusual would it be for my PC to run perfectly fine for 5 months though before any issues showed up? I wasn't like I'd installed some new program or updated anything other than windows/graphics drivers (and I've been wracking my brains to think when the last time it was that I updated those, but can't recall if it was reasonably close to my initial problems starting).

Anyway, fingers crossed and lets see what today brings...

I assume this was solved - god I hate a cliff hanger ending haha
Yes it seems to be fixed now, the motherboard BIOS update seems to have done the trick - although I still don't know why it decided to suddenly become a major problem after 5 months of perfect use.

I didn't reply at the time as real life took over and it took me a couple of weeks before I could get some longer gaming sessions in - but I've played hours and hours over Christmas/New Year now and not had any further issues.
