You misread - I am saying X1800XT 512MB.

Looking at the Toms Hardware charts the 7900GS and X1800XT are pretty much the same speed.

However i doubt the accuracy of thier charts.

The 3DM06 one for instance shows my 7600GT getting at least 1.5k less than I actually do get

I'd get the 7800gtx 512mb tbh. The only advantage the x1800xt has over the 7800gtx 512mb is it can run hdr+aa simotaneously, but imo its not fast enough to run both at an acceptable framerate anyway. I downgraded from a 7800gtx 512mb to a x1800xt 512mb and instantly noticed that the x1800xt was the slower card, especially in openGL based games.

As for the X1800XT being quicker than the 512 version of the 7800gtx...... news to me; but then again I don't think I have seen more recent comparisons than when the 7800gtx 512mb first came out.

So i got the 7900GS, the best £4 ive ever spent
