No the 7900GT is definately not faster than the 7800gtx512 even with the dual GPU. The 7900GTX512 is obviously but not by that much as nvidia have hit some issues with getting the Ram as fast as they want and instead of waiting for some faster DDR3 or (DDR4 even) have gone with the same stuff as ATI did on the X1900 range.lay-z-boy said:No, all they are, are speedboosted 7800 cards with a die shrink.
The 7900gt should be slightly faster than a 7800gtx512 and the 7900gtx some 11% faster, i cant remember the exact numbers but its enough to, iirc, get nvidia back on top.
