7950 upgrade?

What will be the difference if I was to get a mobo with dual 16x or 8x xfire? see an ASRock mobo with dual 8x, will that be good enough to crossfire 7950?

Of course there will be a difference but it would be nothing to be worried about.

He's in a graphic card forum asking for advice and pointing to his 7950. The point in the discussion is to find out what options he has available to him. Now in my opinion what's the point in buying a single new gpu for anywhere between £400 to £700 when he could add a 2nd 7950 for a quarter of that price that would outperform any single card. That to me is a no brainer and my two sense.

Yeah, why does he have to buy a new single gpu but if he looks for a card to crossfire he looks second hand? 290s are easily had for £200 (Infact just looking £182.99 delivered on a well know auction site, bargain and trying to resist going CF myself now :p), sell the 7950 for around £100-£120, pay about £100-£80 depending on how much it sells for a 290.

PSU would be massively pushing it for a CF 7950 setup, so this cost would also need to be added to it making it an even worse option when added to the heat of having two cards crunched together.
