That's what i thought also, I'll skip this even though i hate my 6970 with a passion, I really want an Nvidia card again, All the games i play run best on Nvidia..

In a lot of benchmarks ive seen the HD6870X2 can beat the HD 7970 by a fair bit. And both cards can overclock aswell. Shame it's limited to 1GB per GPU becausce otherwise that is looking like the best bang for buck card around atm. £290 VS £450 :eek:

If Nvidia drop the price of the GTX 580, even by £50 that would probably be a better buy? Best to try and hold out a lil longer, see how it plays out. £450ish is a lot of money for a GPU, especially a single GPU. MY HD 6990 was around £490 on release, makes it look amazing value now lol, it's still the fastest card!

Over in the USA the HD 7970 is selling for $549.99 - £357 :/

Regardless of anything else just add on the VAT and that's nearly £430.

The prices have gone up over here (twice in the last hour)....

u*** were doing sapphire 7970 for $695...now $789 (£519) cos of competitors prices were higher … bugger.

I'm sure OcUK will do the same!

hopefully this will push the other cards a bit cheaper or i can pick up a cheap alternative 6970/580 on mm when everyone goes out and buys them :-)

Damn I almost clicked buy on another popular uk site then that has 7970's up for sale with not a lot of stock. Aww I'm trying to resist as it's not urgent for me but £469 for the Asus 7970 that I want isn't that bad to be honest for launch...... Help me please and stop the Urge as I know they most likely be gone by later.
