I'm not disagreeing with you, but do we know if the "bad B-die" are equally as happy with higher voltages to the B-die we are more familiar with?
All a bad bin will mean is it needs more voltage to hit a certain performance level, I doubt it will make them more likely to fail at 1.5v vs a good bin else it would not be that the general consensus that is 1.5v is safe for B-die as many would have had failing kits.

It's not only the voltage but the timings, kind of like with a CPU where if you set 1.3v @4.2 it will run cooler than 1.3 at 4.5 etc

But my 3600MHz timings at 1.47v where very similar to the primary docp timings the 8 Pack cl14 sticks come with.

I was running 14,15,15,15,30 at 1.47v.

The. 8 Pack ram is 14,15,15,15,35 at 1.45v

Unless the secondary timings are radically different I can't see much of a difference between my timings and the docp timings the 8 Pack ram comes with.

So still expect much of a difference in stability in light of temperatures?

I'd imagen the secondary timings are quite a bit different, even a single timing can make a difference to temps.
 
I did try CAS 16-18-18-36 Timings 1.395v on AMD Ryzen 7 Pro 4750G on Asus B550 Gaming Plus but was freeze on bios and will not post pass. I have to be very quick to go back to default setting on the bios before it freeze again :( must be crappy memory ram kits

Just to clarify, do you have the normal 3200 CL14 sticks, and you are trying to run them like RIPPED 3600 CL14 sticks? I was under the impression that the RIPPED kits were higher binned, not only faster because of the voltage bump.
 
I think it misleads for Corsair to adverts DOCP with CAS 16-18-18-36 Timings 1.350v as it come with kits because it never work? Do u think I should I sent it back? But it still work with manual (with DOCP disabled) and use manual with 3200MHz memory speed but leave timing on auto but set dram voltages at 1.350v as it more stable and can boot up but with slower timing at CAS 22-22-23-53 for now.

Which one more important? Timing or MHz speed?

Yes. I have been running them at faster timings than the ripped at 1.47v for a good year.

I install my 3080 and it all goes pear shaped.

Blue screens, freezes and ctd.

I left everything on stock last night as a test to rule out mobo and gpu and gamed for about 3rhs with no issues.

Another session or two needed to be sure I don't have a psu or GPU issue.

Then I can blame the ram overheating.

I've been running the fast profile from the dram calc.

The only big difference I can see between the safe and the fast is the trfc is up from 288 to something like 350.

I gave up trying this profile as I assumed as the volts where still going to be similar to before it would still get too hot.

Reckon it's worth a try again using safe to see if it makes any difference?

I still reckon voltage wise it will be 1.45v -1.47v.

Regarding your question about the RIPPED kits that are 1.45v out of the box, I'm suggesting that they might cope better with the heat because they are higher binned, and not to expect your kit to cope similarly... just a theory, but not sure.

Im running my 3080 with 8 pack team group RAM at 1.5V DDR3800, CAS14, IF1900. No issues running the Extreme1 anta profile in TestMem5 v0.12

By the way, according to JEDEC DDR4 is specified with an operating temperature of up to 85°C, so there is no danger for the longevity of the components. Only if you push your RAM to the performance maximum, a few Kelvin more or less above the room or case temperature can make a difference. Therefore, here again the tip: If you test RAM for 24/7 stability, do this in the actual installation, e.g. in the case with closed side panel, and with load on GPU and CPU to simulate the heating of the surrounding air. For example, I’ve had the case where my RAM was stable overnight while only the TM5 was running, but after 30 minutes of gaming the graphics card generated so much excess heat that the RAM became too warm and thus unstable.

The FE may be different from AIB cards regarding airflow.
 
Igors example is not 3080FE cooler vs other GPU coolers, its GPU loaded vs idle, which is 300W+ heat dumped in the case difference. Obviously will make things toastier for memory
 
As @Guest2 mentioned, no problems with my setup either. I have temp probes on the ram heatsinks, they do get toasty but below 44°. Like Guest I'm putting 1.5v into them.

For testing, I lowered the oc and stuck 1.35v into them, same temps recorded by the probes. So I feel case airflow is key.

The main ram problem I have is seeing the 3090's hit 90°. By all accounts that is normal gee!.

I'm sure i measured the temp with a cheapo laser temp sensor a while back when I was testing 1.5V on them. It won't be 100% accurate but better than nothing.
Now there's a 3080 FE in there i'm going to guess at the temp being lower than before if anything

Well... I've been playing this week with my ram. Since installing my 3080 my ram overclock isnt stable at the CL14 speeds I have been running it at. And those speeds are the second fastest profile I was using since around May last year.

Both where stable, but since 3080 FE was installed 2 weeks ago I have had issues.

I have tested a CL16 profile at 1.35v and the PC was fine so I am confident to say it's not my PSU or GPU that is the problem.

I've tried a few alternative CL14 tweaks to see if it would work like loosing trfc etc but still no dice.

Considering I read above some of you are running 1.5v I might actually try that my self.

I'm at 1.47v. I'm still not sure if my issue is heat related in which case putting more volts through the ram is hardly going to help, but I have to try it.

I've got used to running my ram at 3600MHz CL14 so it just doesn't sit right running it at CL16 3600MHz.
