Ordered my 8150 from the OC shop last weekend and i can't wait to get it. I am like a kid at christmas. Has anyone else pre-ordered one off these ?because it seems by reading through some forums that a lot of people are going down the Intel route.
I watched this video today http://youtu.be/UKN4VMOenNM very impressive don't you think??? Its just as shame we cant have an over-liberal liquid nitrogen cooling system stuffed into our cases pmsl. :D:D:D

Might have been a tad wiser to actually read a review or two before jumping in and ordering.

Minor technicalities :D:D i guess once you find a brand you like you stick with it i.e xbox vs playstation or coke vs pepsi . Any machine with the right set up running the Bulldozer or the 2600k is going to be a beast.
Maybe my next build ill try Intel for a change but i doubt it lol.

I've seen some pretty desperate PR excercises but having AMD execs sign up to computer forums to pretend bulldozer is not rubbish, that is pretty low:p

Just kidding, hope you got on well with it. I was hoping to purchase but sanity stood in the way.

Problem is, you could have saved yourself a bunch of money by buying an X6 instead... had better performance, less power draw, cooler running, and more IPC...

But hey ho your money.

pretty sure for day to day stuff there will be zero difference between Bulldozer and 2600K, same thing goes for gaming which tends to be graphics bottlenecked 99% of the time, so again unlikely to notice any difference. the video is indeed pretty cool, it reminds me of some crazy industrial age workshop crossed with the carbonite freezing chamber from Star Wars Episode V. planning on tweaking your system for best performance I would guess, cause there are a few tweaks around that can make a difference. :p

Edit: for the record still intend on picking one up when B3 stepping makes an appearance, would just love to have a mess about with one, they have so many tweaking options.

Ok so maybe the whole world was expecting much more from AMD mainly because the name BULLDOZER suggests complete and powerful destruction of anything in its path and maybe thats the problem, we was all expecting too much and possibley the AMD PR team was a bit misleading lol. I dont want to get into the whole AMDfanboy vs INTELfanboy scrap, there must be a thread for that somewhere though lol. All the benchmarks i have seen so far are highly contradictive at the moment, i guess time will tell. I am not one for chasing numbers anyway so as long as i can smash out Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3 in a good fasion ill be more than happy. Maybe i wont have to eat humble pie and come back grovelling to the OC shop for a good deal on an Intel set up hahaha

that is like saying Sandy Bridge is fast because we imagine a bridge made from sand, they are just code-names, nothing more, nothing less.

the reason Bulldozer isn't the best option at the moment is because there are some quite clear physical problems with the processors that need to be ironed out before it can be considered a complete, market ready product.

when the problems are ironed out I can see it being much more competitive than it is in its current form, but until then the power consumption figures at anything other than stock and unpredictable performance seem to put most people off. :)

OP is a troll

Well I don't know, he has taken the time to make a legal signature

In all honesty though, I am a big AMD advocate (currently have a 1090T that I recently moved to from a Q6600) but even I would be looking to get the 2500k just from looking through the Bulldozer thread.

Even though it, at times, descends into fanboism, there is a lot of useful info and facts backing up the reality that Bulldozer was a bit toilet and not really worth the money and hype that it has come with.

And on the whole, irrelevant for us swashbucklers.

The TDP and heat that is produced just isn't worth it. At all in my opinion and many others.
