8150 world record!!!! i can't wait for my Bulldozer

I'd like to see where AMD's future world records are going to come from though, BD only clocks that high because of the poor IPC.

Bulldozer might hold that record for quite some time unless Intel bring back the P4.

Oh, it'll do all of those things fine. It's not really a matter of noticing things, it is the slower chip in the majority of things, obviously it can beat out the 2500k and even in some cases the 2600k in 8 threaded app's, but they're few and far between, also the 8150 is more expensive than the 2500k.

Will the end user notice? Probably not, but many have opted the SB route over the BD route, obviously there's a reason for that.

The trouble is an X6 1090T would do those things almost as well for 50% of the price and beat out Bulldozer in the majority of tasks.

If that is your thinking then why didn't you save a ****tonne of money and get the i5-2500K or a Phenom II x6?

Because im not a complete computer geek like some guys who take this stuff seriously and i was sucked in by all the hype and PR. But at the end of the day when the system is up and running im sure ill be more than happy with it.

Not a computer geek but has 8 core CPU, 16GB RAM and crossfire GPUs...and posting on OcUK...hmmmmmmmmmmm

I think the point most people are trying to get across to you OP is that you would in practical terms be better off going with one of the old hex cores if it has to be amd and sorry to say it but that is correct.

By the time the BD architecture is competitive we are going to be a bit into the future. Gives me no joy to say it i was hoping for more from amd this time round but either because of over ambitious engineers or a bad pocess at glo fo BD right now is not what it should have been and not really worth the money they cost. Either way whatever you decide have fun with it and let us know how you get on .

Emm...no, you clearly missed the point.

It's not that people got a problem with people using Bulldozer; if they like to blow the money on an inferior product, then it is their choice that's nothing wrong with that, but it is only natural for people to comment that they could have gotten the same performance on a cheaper CPU, such as the Phenom II X6.

But the problem is more to do with the way OP made the topic, as it is basically saying "Bulldozer is awesome!! YES! YES YES! It is!" with that attitude of zero intention for a discussion at all on a forum, thus making this thread pretty much pointless and nothing but troll bait.

people are trying to explain to you OP, That you've thrown money away. Just return the processor. You still can. Obviously if you want to keep it fair enough, but you can still buy a 1090t, support AMD and get better performance in most tasks.

Or stick with what you have, have a bigger electricity bill and lose out most the time with regards to performance

So the world record video wasnt impressive?? cool, take it or leave it. I quite enjoyed it.
I asked a question at the start of the thread which got answered, where did i NOT accept what was being said??? just because i didnt come out and write "OMG im such an idiot thanks guys ill return it" i get labled a Troll??? doesnt make sence to me. Then everyone jumps on board, i wanted peoples opinions but a lot of the replies are not opinions they are smart a**e comments and repetitive, i pay my elecric bill and never worry about getting a red letter so lets forget the power consumption its not an issue for me. If you have nothing new to bring to the thread why bother posting?
Some people make it out to be the worst thing since time began, the performance margins between BD, HEX and 2500 is minute, in all honesty we are talking about a couple seconds on most tasks. I wont be returning it i shall give it a bash and if it really is terrible ill know for next time.
