84% Of Gamers Do Not Meet Recommended Spec for BF3

I bet the graphics won't be better than Crysis 2 using DX11.

You didn't notice crysis 2 was less stressful on your system than the first one?

Anyway, most of us will need an upgrade, there hasn't really been any over the past year and with no massive jumps in gpu power it's not surprising.

Besides, BF2 crippled a lot of pcs, I'm just glad someone is still producing games that really push pc hardware.

I wonder how they define "capable" at max...cause not everyone is expecting to be able to max constant 60fps at 1920 res with 8xAA on their PC, and is happy with max as long as the minium is above 30~35fps at 1920 res 4xAA.

To be honest that article doesn't really give much of any practical information...and those recommendations seem like something that could had been written by any of us.

And what I found amusing is that the quote of "From what we've learned through Steam's hardware survey, a stunning 84% of PC gamers currently do not meet the recommended specifications to play Battlefield 3"...yet we have not yet seen gamers storming various forums crying and shouting "FFFFFF...my 5850/5870/GTX470/GTX480 can't run the game smoothly!".

Until the actual game and official benchmarks are out, I'd take articles like these as consideration at best and definitely wouldn't recommend anyone to upgrading their hardware just yet base on this alone.

I'm hopeful that 1366x768 will be my saving grace on this one. As long as my GTX275 can run it at low to medium I'll be happy. Will see what the beta feedback is like.

Are you really telling me that 84% of users don't have better than 8800GT Graphics?

Doesn't really bother me anyway... 480 ~ equiv to 570... And I only play single screen :)

Also, I wonder what they take as an acceptable FPS?

Well I'm glad I don't have to upgrade my 6970 :D

But I feel the need to upgrade my Q9550 ;)

Dam you Bulldozer, come out I want to see how good you are, before I buy any CPU.

I would wait until the game is released. No way are some of the ratings accurate. How can a 460 be considered a low-medium card , and then a 560 a high end card. It is a total advertising ploy to get you to purchase the latest generation GPU's.

Used both buddy! Im also running a 2600k at 4.8 with the UD7 Mobo.I hope this is not correct! because I wont be buying High end graphics cards just to play this at reasonable settings.
