84% Of Gamers Do Not Meet Recommended Spec for BF3

Was thinking of going down the road of selling the 5850s and getting just 1 580 but, does the 580 run 3 screens? or would I be jumping out of the frying pan into the fire.

A single GTX 580 won't run 3 screens.

For 3 screens with Nvidia you need 2 GPU's in SLI so 2 single GPU cards or a single dual GPU card.

There's a GTX 560Ti which will run 3 screens but only at 1680x1050 resolution so it's not much use.

I'm part of the 84%...looking for a used second GTX 460 to SLi for this. I think that should ensure maximum settings at 1920x1200 with 4xAA...fingers crossed :)

i call tripe...why? because the Witcher 2 is the only game to of pushed my hardware in recent times and even then after the ati update fps got a massive boost, and if bf3 is just a glorified bc2 frostbite engine it will be a walk in the park..

and they say the ultra is with 3d on, and who the **** has 3d nowadays? no-one unless your blind and stupid.

You didn't notice crysis 2 was less stressful on your system than the first one?

Anyway, most of us will need an upgrade, there hasn't really been any over the past year and with no massive jumps in gpu power it's not surprising.

Besides, BF2 crippled a lot of pcs, I'm just glad someone is still producing games that really push pc hardware.

You played with dx11? So much tessellation on dx11 ultra that it cripples most graphics cards.

I can play Crysis fine on my PC at maximum graphics. Crysis 2, I get a slideshow. I'm fairly sure if I could change AA settings it'd be even worse.

Guess il be sticking with the 5850s then for now and see how they cope.

I agree, my setup which is less than yours, plays the witcher 2 (ultra minus uber sampling) at 1920x1200 smooth as squirrel poo.

It lists an 8800 for minimum, so that will be minimum requirements, not recommended.

Recommended is probably about medium, which they have as 560 level performance.

Recommended is confirmed for high. He stated minimum was for approximately 720p res, so I'm gonna assume same res for recommended, purely because I don't think he's stated otherwise (I could be wrong.)
