8600 Benched (Real)

Nice card, might get this instead of a 8800GTS, it'd better have normall drivers though.

What kinda RAM will these have? and what price-range?

Ram: i don't know
PRice range: suppsed to be 150-189 $ but I think europe will change that to euros (thus price approx 25% higher) .

Hmm, looking like promising overclockers then, I just hope they're priced competitvely so I can get one to abuse. :D

looks promising, it just needs a decent price tag to match the performance and nVidia might be onto a winner.

Maybe its just me, but I do not have too much faith in this. When it comes to solder, the chance to end up with a 0Mhz card instead of 1Ghz are times 10.

thats just me maybe, but I will still try mod one when is out and reasonably priced! :D

The clocks are printed below each benchmark pic, and he's using volt mods:
"With 1.5v VGPU and 2.4v Memory, I broke 7K 3D Mark 2006 and 15K 3D Mark 2005"

3DMk06:
7,027 @ 920MHz Core, 1215MHz Memory
7,254 @ 965MHz Core, 1265MHz Memory

3DMk05:
15,122 @ 949MHz Core, 1280MHz Memory
15,324 @ 1006MHz Core, 1265MHz Memory!

Default clocks appear to be 745MHz Core, and 1145MHz Memory, which is well below those clocks, so I'd say the 3DMk06 score at Default clocks would be more like ~6800.

are those the over all memory clocks or do those still need 2 me multiplied?

wonder if its 90nm or 80nm?

the less the better, would be great on low power consumption and low heat.
its got 128bit memory interface i think, but its a very efficient gpu and targeted at a lower level so i guess everyone that runs 1280x1024 would be happy with this card.

If it's even close to the X1950XTX in performance I will be picking one of these up. It gets pretty toasty in my Sugo, been looking to move up to the 8800/8600 series but i've been waiting for that perfect card.

Given that it's 1GHz memory, surely it would have to be 65nm to keep heat down enough to get away with a single slot cooler?

yes - very nice, on par with a X1950XT when it's been overclocked ! But how good will it run @ stock ? Will it match a stock X1950XT ?
