£57 actually

this is your rig is it not?

Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 Socket 775 1.86GHz Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 x1
MSI S775 nForce 650 SLI ATX Audio Lan MSI S775 nForce 650 SLI ATX
Crucial Ballistix 1GB 240-Pin DIMM PC2-6400 Unbuffered Non-ECC CAS4 x1
XFX GeForce 7600GT 256MB DDR3 PCIE Dual DVI 570 mhz x1
Corsair hx 520w power supply
Tuniq tower 120 cpu cooler

Why buy the 650i?

To go SLI with 7600 GT's?
This will cost you over 100 quid

This must be in your mind if you were looking at a 520w PSU.
BTW total overkill for that system.

The 965 chipset is better.Only get the 650 I if SLI is needed.

So what you have is 7600 GT in sli for 100 that performs the same similar to a 7900 GT.

Thats not bang for buck.Thats stupidity.

The smart choice is getting a 8800 GTS that blows your rig away by a significant margin.

You think the 8800 gts 320mb will be running quake wars and not to mention many other upcoming games maxed out think again.
If an 8800GTS won't run them, then God help your 7600GT.

I guess we really are the mugs because we won't have to play on low.

whatever he downgraded because he realised its overpriced for what you get end of story.
No, you missed his point.

He downgraded because the 8800GTS is just as good for almost half the price.

Saying you would rather spend £200 on a new motherboard and CPU instead of a graphics card is rather daft considering you have a Core 2 Duo (that's the impression I get from easyrider's post anyway.) With a 7600GT in that system, upgrading your CPU is going to yield you a nice 2-5fps increase at low resolution whereas using the same money to buy an 8800GTS could boost your framerate by silly amounts at much higher resolutions with full support for HDR and upt to 16x full-scene antialiasing.

You get me? ;)

When Quake Wars rolls around, easyrider and myself will be playing it in very high detail on our 8800GTS's or whatever we upgrade to by then. You will probably struggle to play it on medium settings in 1024x768 with your 7600GT.

I am sure we will feel like mugs! :D

Your new so I forgive your daft statements. ;)

I have told you why I downgraded.

Its common knowledge on these boards what I do with GFX cards.

I can have any top end hardware I want. When I want it.

I sell cards at the right time to move on with technology.

Anyone on these boards can tell you that.

I downgraded as I sold my 8800 GTX for £375 and bought a EVGA 8800 GTS 320mb as a stepping stone to 8900 or whatever when DX 10 is needed or comes closer.

BTW I thought I made your ignore list? ;)

You did, but I figured from his replies you were saying something really juicy that I might actually agree with, so I keep clicking the view post button. ;)

It's like selective hearing, only better. :p

LMFAO! I'm sure your 7600GT can play games like S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Command & Conquer 3, Supreme Commander etc. at maximum settings.

And pigs fly.

Then pigs fly because i am playing cnc 3 max details all ultra @1024-768
it looks amazing and plays amazing thanks.
How about Supreme Commander and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.? :)

You did say all the latest games.

1024x768 is rubbish by the way, hardly maxed out that. Try 1920x1200 and we'll talk maxed out.

Maybe this is why you have so many STALKER problems. You need to have it in 800x600 to make it look good and play awesome. No need for SLi, 800x600 is the future.

Must be, I must need a 7600GT to play this game maxed out.

What was I thinking? I feel like such a mug. :(

Yeah my sister has a 17" Hanns-G if you want to swap your Samsung, I'm sure that will help with games.
