Just to add to the info for OP

Can't run those settings in Xtu though, need to drop CPU to 4.9Ghz and up Vcore to 1.32v

Also found updating my bios to latest version helped

are u using the Apex's memory profiles? Is there any change to 2nd timing? I am interesting in venturing into the 4K 12 11 world but don't really know how to.

I really don’t understand this it’s now idling at 3.7 even though I have switched speedstep and turbo mode off

set the avx offset = 0. It will keep the CPU clock at the same value as core ratio when load.

just load the bios to default then all core ratio = 50, avx offset = 0, LLC6, manual voltage to the bare minimal level which it passes cb15.

In the bios it says target speed 5ghz but on the right hand side it f the bios it says it’s running at 3.7

That’s what I’m trying but it doesn’t seem to want to apply the overclock

Yes, it now seems to be working holding at 5ghz 3 runs on the trot no problem max temp 78c but memory only running at 2133

Yeah it’s now sticking at 5ghz @1.344v 79c, temps still worry me for being under a triple and double rad

can you get the vol any lower? 8700K runs hot without deliding. Intel stock TIM sucks big time.

I’m giving it a 15minute run of realbench now to see how long it lasts edit it lasted 2 mins

That's normal for an unlidded 8700k tbh.
Once you're happy it's stable bring the memory speed up.

Mem speed is up, how can I call it stable if it can’t pass realbench for more than 3 mins
