8800GT Stock?

hmm if the OC2s do some in before the EVGA SCs 50% of me says get it instead the other 50% says what if the EVGAs come in this week too

woozy, I had originally ordered an EVGA SC like you. I had sent a webnote to OcUK asking them if they thought the BFG's would arrive before the EVGA's, to kindly change my order to the BFG OC2... and they changed my order... Guess that speaks for itself, that the EVGA's wouldn't be arriving before the BFG OC2.

Anyone got a crystal ball? Do you reckon the price is gonna drop nearer the RRP any time soon? I'm building a new PC and have some but not all parts, so I'm wondering whether I should hold out that little bit longer in the hope they drop towards the £150 mark. I'm just unsure how long the "little bit longer" may have to be.

I don't think there gonna drop any time soon, and you have to remember its approaching xmas. I have seen lots of products from different sites all putting there prices up on certain items :(

I was soo tempted to buy one, but just might wait till the new year now.

In a raging fit of jealousy, I just rang to chase my non ocuk order and have been told that they are getting 10 EVGA GT's in on Thurs and it will be with me Fri. The main waiting list is for the OC'd version, glad I chose to oc it myself
Same day as my pre-ordered UT3
Damn its going to be a good weekend :D

oooh

what version EVGAs:confused:

waiting for the SC version

I've been waiting on the EVGA SC since November 1st so I just lost hope, besides the BFG OC2 has slightly better clock speeds than it. My only concern is now when the OC2's arrive I won't be high enough up the waiting list to grab one, here's to hoping!

Bought mine from here at a premium but id rather that than no card for weeks i know it's not a good deal at £197 delivered but i'd rather that than wait 2 weeks for a better deal i suppose.

Why wait for pre overclocked cards? Its not rocket science overclocking.

True very true. However when gpus are made on a waffer, some are "better" than others, due to silicon differences across the waffer. All gpus made are tested at stock clock speeds and higher. Those that pass the overclock speeds are sold as OC or OC2 etc. They are guarenteed to be stable at the higher clock speeds. Its also the case for ram etc etc. Now you maybe able to overclock a stock card and may not.

It's not a case of waiting for an OC card this is the only reasonably priced gt in stock anywhere on the net as far as i am aware if i had found a vanilla card i would have bought it.Ordered mine at 3:15 hopefully that's enough time to get it shipped today.

Are nvidia having trouble with these chips or getting bad yields? Getting 10 in at once reminds me of the x800xt-pe fiasco.

Tollerances get smaller and smaller as the generation of gpus increase.

Also its no surprise to me that the OC cards are now appearing as the second fab used by nvidia is on line, flextronics. I suspect the production process at flextronics is better than at the first fab foxcon.
