8g iPhone (£169) vs 8g iTouch (£199)

I manage, still on PAYG an i spent only around £10 a month on it, its easy when it comes with Free calls in the evenings to Orange and 300 text free.

Really? I always thought they were.. until I saw an iPod Touch.

It somehow looks like it has a bigger surface area. Although, that's probably due to me being tired :o

The touch is slightly shorter, as well as a bit thinner, so the screen is bigger in proportion to the unit, but the same actual size :)

Ok guys i'm on O2, I have an N95 at the moment which i hate to bits but its in top condition so aparently i can get 135 from Cex for it.

So a little bit more and I get the iPhone? Am i able to take it away in shop or do I have to get it posted? And do i simply pop in and say i want an iphone but no tarriff?

No contracts are done in the store, you activate it yourself at home. So yes, you just go in and say that you want to buy an iPhone.

Walk in, give money, walk out with magic box of cheap shinyness, go home, unlock and jailbreak, laugh manically.

I shall do this tomo :-)

Edit: all this talk of accessories? Do i have to buy them? So does it not come with headphone adaptor/dock etc?

It comes with headphones with inline mic, usb cable, mains charger, dock and cleaning cloth.. you may need a little adapter to use other headphones with it as the connector is recessed.

Ah ok :) Sounds good. I think i may just buy it and sell my phone on the bay as i'm likely to get more than 135.

Wow - cheers guys :)

How do you manage? I thought going up to contract was unnecessary at first, but now I've got things like internet everywhere I couldn't be without it!

I get along OK, load up £20 every 1-2 months. Sometimes I wish I could do internet on the move but there are so many unprotected wireless networks where I am at the moment that it reduces the need.

Im seriously tempted to get this. Would it be remotely worth waiting for the next gen of iPhone over this current deal?

£169 is a bargain for the iPhone!

Personally I'm too impatient to wait, however when the new one comes out I will probably be upgrading.

I would buy one now at £169 as surely the resale value of the current iPhone cant drop to much past £169 even when the new one comes out?
